Re: Wondering if there's a superseding part available?

Dan, I believe his name is Gage. He was very polite, spoke clearly, seemed on the ball, might just want to tell him about the whole deal where parts from older reels can supersede into newer reels etc.

Re: Bantam MGL

I have one and I love the concept of the all metal reel! That said, I'm such a creature of habit I mainly use my CU200E's and CH100Ds! I guess I have too many reels....

Re: Wondering if there's a superseding part available?

Thanks cndbasshntr, I figured they'd be parts that fit a variety of reels. When I called Shimano CS and asked the guy about the ST1000FH he told me that parts were no longer available. I then made clear that it was only a spring and felt drag washer and asked about superseding parts and he told me n...

Re: CH MG 50 upgrades

Mark, the original CH50Mg main gear is aluminum. And hoohoo is correct about the cu100D vs. Dsv. I asked on the shimano page and that is what Dan said. So from my understanding, if you plan on using heavy line, or techniques with lots of torque/drag pressure, a brass gear addition will definitely he...

Wondering if there's a superseding part available?

Hello,

I'm wondering if there's a superseding part available for the following?

RD 7834 bail spring
RD 3048 drag washer

These are numbers I got off the ST1000FH schematic.

Thanks as always.

Difference between CU100D and CU100DSV and a gear ?

Out of curiosity wondering differences of CU100D and CU100DSV. Also wondering from Dan or anyone else about replacing the main gear from CU100b CU100d CH50mg body style reels with BNT1325? Will this gear work with the pinions from all of the aforementioned reels? I understand that all these pinions ...

Re: Thanks Bantam !

Thanks for being on here B :) I have always leaned Shimano but dabbled in other reels. Since I've come on this forum and started working on my own reels I'm only more convinced they are the best there is. A big part of that are good schematics, organized parts #'s, and the great support from Dan wit...

Re: CH MG 50 upgrades

I read on a post here some time back that although the pinion gear has been discontinued and unavailable for a long time, the main gear for the CU100/CH50mg/CU100D reels can still be found. Although best practice is to replace as a set, I have seen many CH50Mgs with broken teeth on their aluminum ma...

Re: Stradic FL plastics

So the side of the frame that includes the stem and reel foot is aluminum and the other side of the body is a composite? Is this how most aluminum framed shimano spinning reels are?

Case for spinning spool?

A buddy gave me a simms gear bag and I've been packing it with all my trout gear. The bag is soft inside, but wondering if any of you have a case for a 2500 spool? Something to keep it from clinking off knives, flashlights, etc, etc. Also would come in handy in my boat.

Re: New Antares

Weight is such an overblown factor with fishing reels. As long as it palms well thats what matters. Exactly. Too many nerds on here that spend more time looking at reel specs than actually fishing. A feather lite reel that is shelled out, needs new gears after one season is a reel not worth owning.

Re: Help with ?'s on 2019 Stradic, Asian version

I was looking for line capacity of the 2500 model(it has the shallow spool) but didn't find it. Worried that I'd spool it on every cast with a spool like that. 12lb. nanofil and a crankbait and I can throw a country mile.

Help with ?'s on 2019 Stradic, Asian version

I'm chomping at the bit for a new reel and thinking that the new Stradic looks a treat. For my use of spinning reels it has always been a 2500 or 4000 that fits the bill. I use them a lot for moving baits such as inline spinners, stick baits, and crankbaits. I want to try a low gear ratio reel for s...

Best buzzbait

there seems to be a dizzying array of buzzbaits on the market now. Fishing over the weekend I see that I have buzzers from half a dozen brands, and I'd rather stick to one bait and know it well. What is your favorite?
