Re: Does Shimano say to grease or oil replacement felt drags?

I wish these different kinds of grease were for sale in the north american market rather than just the star drag grease. Every time I google it to buy it, links are from either Australia or Asia. Maybe someday in the future.

anyone use or tried using CLR?

I was watching a video on lure rehab, and a guy throws some spinnerbait blades, clevis, brass weights, etc. that are very corroded. He throws it all into some CLR and it really seems to eat away the corrosion and shine things up. Just wondering if anyone has ever tried this with a brass gear set?

Do you use a dremel?

I'm wondering if any of you guys use a dremel, and in that case, what for? I've been thinking of getting one for a while, but not sure how much I'd use it.

Re: buying bearings in bulk

Thanks for the tips. I realize that on the whole Chinese bearings should generally be inferior to japanese bearings. I actually ordered abec 5 zz stainless for less than a buck a bearing. Minimal investment and I can try, if they work good I can order more. I always test all bearings for smoothness....

Re: Loose spool on revo

It seems like the one in the sideplate is in relatively good shape. After I took all the spacers out and cleaned them, then reinstalled I can get the spool tension decently tight. I need to order a few other parts from berkley and I'll order new spacers as they're prolly cheap and maybe the old ones...

Re: Loose spool on revo

It's a revo sx. The black one. Gen 2 I believe. Half shaft. There did seem to be a divot in the cork spacer in the tension cap. I'll order a new one and try that.

Loose spool on revo

I'm cleaning a revo and customer says he has trouble getting enough spool tension. I checked schematic and everything is in proper place. What should I do? Did the spacers in the tension cap compress over time?

Thanks, I just ordered some that were less than $1 a bearing. WOW!! Now I can afford to order a bunch of frame bearing too. Wish I would have figured this out years ago.

buying bearings in bulk

I saw in the "acetone" thread Lgmouthgambler and Shimanofan post about buying bearings for cheap. Just wondering if you guys or anyone else wants to post their source for bearings that are less expensive than buying OEM? In my case I like to stick to standard all stainless. Thanks.

CU200B pinion bearing

I'm wondering if there's a part number for a bearing that is compatible for the bearing located on the spool under the pin for CU200B's? Sorry to keep asking all these bearing questions, my new years resolution is to get a caliper so I can measure the bearings from now on!

Re: Noisy Curado 201HG's

With these two reels it seems that the pinion bearing was the main cause of the noise. I replaced the A/R roller clutch first and this did help a little, but when I replaced the pinion bearings the reels really quieted down. Thanks for your input. P.S. these reels are from a guy in wisconsin and fre...

Re: cheap tool for spool pin removal

I have the tool and so far so good on Shimanos. I have a few daiwa reels laying around somewhere. I'll test it on them and report back later.

Part substitute question

I'm looking for BNT 2394 and it looks like it's discontinued. Just wondering if anyone has a workable part substitute? This is the inner tube for a CU200D.

Re: C clip removal tool

Thanks ShimanoFan, I was thinking the same thing about the difference between e and c clips, just too lazy to post pics. I can get e clips off no problem, but don't know how to handle c clips?
