Other reels come and go, but I've promised myself never to sell or trade my original Greenie CU200Bs. Some of them I've had for almost 20 years. Looking forward to the next 20.
A buddy is selling a Core 50Mg7 in mint condition with box and all. He says it was a backup reel and never fished although I noticed he spooled line on it. I've held a few before but have never fished with one before. I do have a couple CH50e's which I believe is the same body style. I'm just wonder...
This reel was in like new condition. My buddy bought it from the backshelf of some tackle store, maybe a floor model. Very little fishing time on it. The tech didn't use any glue, he just put some pressure on each of the pins to snug them back in.
Here's a secret trick I learned today from a reel tech at a shimano factory authorized service center. I had a G reel from my best buddy and it was making a ticking sound with every rotation of the spool. I had torn the reel apart and couldn't find anything wrong. The tech took out the spool, grabbe...
I've gotten into stream trout fishing in a big was the last year. Lifelong bass and walleye angler on all different types of water. Although I do enjoy trout fishing with a baby pole(spinning rod), there were times on the stream when I desired the control and accuracy that comes with a bait caster. ...

By this I mean sourced from outside of Shimanos proprietary factories? The only reason I ask is I was discussing reels last night with a buddy who is a supply chain engineer for a large US pump manufacturer, and he was curious.
It's winter, all the lakes are iced over, and I've got money burning a hole in my pocket. Wondering what people think about the tranx or other larger reels for bass fishing? Sounds like a deal for swimbaits and such. Any comments on gear ratios or handles?

I never thought I'd purchase a bfs setup because I bass fish and never saw the point. But now that I recently got into trout fishing my interest is piqued. What is your suggestion for stream trout fishing with spinners, mainly number 9 and 15 panther Martins? The waters I fish routinely kick out bro...

Tony, what handle and/or knobs did you put on your Conquest 101HG?

Bantam you do good to put up with some of the whining and complaining on this forum. Thanks for your detailed explanation and of course for all the questions answered and help given on this board. Customer service is a large reason I use and recommend Shimano.

I've learned this the hard way too. I've put carbontex into all my CU200E7's, CH50MGs, CU200Bs, CH100D7s, and maybe a few more I'm forgetting. If you ever fish braid or any heavy line, greased drag washers lead to a slipping drag. I have a tub of Cal's, but I won't put it on my drag washers anymore....
I just saw this reel on digitaka, is it similar to a tranx? I don't really need any more reels but I haven't bought any in a long time and I'm starting to feel the need for one. Maybe looking for a beefier one for frog fishing or throwing bigger baits. Also looking at the daiwa coastal that tokugawa...
Agree 100%. Curado E, Curado B, Chronarch D, TD-X 103hva, CH50mg. I wish I had some older spinning reels. They all broke or were sold over time, this was before I knew how to do all my own maintenance. The reels I have now I will never get rid of.
