Re: Megabass rods keep breaking while casting
It'd be nice to hear something from MB on it at least...With the Levante issue they got out in front of it and as a result, everyone was confident with them when they were eventually re-released. With this issue, I haven't seen any kind of acknowledgement on what really seems to be more than just is...

Re: Megabass rods keep breaking while casting
Something is or was definitely up with Megabass rods recently. Had a new Warhammer snap the first time I flexed it...Buddy of mine had the same rod, bought at the same time, and it broke exactly the same way and in the same spot. Another friend has had several Destroyers and XX's break in the same m...

Re: Oneten stick jerkbaits
I have the X4 Oneten stick witch is also F4 and 6'5". I really like it for 110's, Jr's, and X-80's. I've been eying the XXX Version as well for 2nd option so thanks for starting this thread.
Anyone able to the compare the XXX to the X4 by chance (for the Oneten Stick)?

Re: Valkyrie rods
I have 2 of the 7'1 and it is definitely a moving bait rod. It does not fish heavy at all. Use mine for traps, flukes, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, paddle tails and buzzbaits. Can you say versatile. But no bottom bouncing. I have a Bantam on one and a Curado DC on the other. Do you mean the 7'1 H? C...

Re: XX EMTF - Gen1 VS Gen2 - Crankbaits
My suggestion if you already have the rod or have access to fish with one is to try the G2 EMTF for that presentation and see how you feel about it. Initially when the G1 was released there was not a Launcher in the series so many used the EMTF for deep cranking. The current Launch is pretty versat...

Re: XX EMTF - Gen1 VS Gen2 - Crankbaits
I actually use my Gen 1 for jigs and texas rigs. It's a fantastic rod for so many applications. Same here, my favorite technique with is swingheads...But these are the reasons I don't like the gen1 EMTF for cranking. From what I've read and scooter's reply here is seems like the gen2 will make a go...

XX EMTF - Gen1 VS Gen2 - Crankbaits
Hi All, Wondering if anyone has experience and can compare the Gen1 and Gen2 EMTF? I have a gen1 EMTF and it's one of my favorites, just not for cranking. I know the gen2 is supposed to be a bit more moderate in action to cater more to moving baits. Was just wanting know if anyone can confirm this a...

Re: Most specific chatterbait rod
I really like the Black Jungle - Deep Crank and Slow Roll for chatters. XX DSR is a close second. I had the Dobyns 736CB Glass and also a Zillion Glass 7-2MH which were excellent as well. I still regret letting go of the Zillion. One of my fishing partners has a Tatula Glass 7-2MH for chatters and i...

Re: Megabass levante
In all seriousness these rods look and fish like more expensive models. The locking nut is AWESOME looking. Nothing about these rods I dislike other than the Spinnerbait Special went away.... Was the Spinnerbait Special unpopular, sales-wise? I guess it had to be or they wouldn't have killed ...

Re: Valkyrie Rods-Megabass
TT's review mentions the glass-feel to some of the models....I asked this in the other thread but since this is at the top now I'll ask again. Is one of MH or H models a glass chatterbait-type rod? Similar to the Dobyns 736 CB Glass, Zillion 72MH-G, or the Evergreen Jackhammer rods? I know not much...

Re: Megabass rod for swimjigs and frogs?
You could do both with the XX TV...I use a TV with 17lb FC as my primary jig rod and another TV with 50lb braid as a do-it-all heavy rod...Most of the time with a 2nd frog (my primary frog rod is different), buzzbait, plopper, etc. I usually fish swimjigs on a different rod (EMTF or DSR) but I have ...

Re: Megabass Valkyrie Rods
Interesting, thanks for all the replies. I thought it was a little odd with all the rods being glass/composite since there were spinning rods and other models that wouldn't typically be glass. Definitely interested in more information once it's known. I follow a Japanese MB pro staffer on IG and he ...
