Re: Daiwa tatula sv103sh or alphas ctsv70 for light stuff?

I have two alphas ct and they are killer for light and heavy stuff. I have one on 611M+ adrena and go as light as weighless trick worms. I am certain that on a ML or L stick it would be able to cast lighter lures. The other one is on fmj for 1/2 oz jigs. What I really like about this reel (beyond a...

Re: Shimano Stradic FL (Smootheness)?

That’s the “upgraded” carbon fiber drag. I’ve learned the hard way that any line you use 12lb and under, the drag is better with the regular felt washers. Like many I fell for that "carbontex always better" scheme years ago. Swapped all my freshwater spinners back to stock felt. 4-6lb line...carbon...

Re: I don't use spinning gear at all. Do you?

It comes down to quicker drops with lighter weights in deeper water. BFS is fun, but it will never be as efficient as spinning gear when it comes to feeding line off the spool for deep finesse stuff. Drag will also never be as smooth.

I've been using Sunline FX2 for frogging and man does it hold water. I hated that. Does the grand hold water too?
No braid known to man holds more water than x8 Grand. Absolute garbage in that department, and others too.

The YGK x8 Upgrade holds very little water.

Re: Last chance at a 72H Hyuga

Enough backbone to drive home weedless paddletail beast hook rigged baits? (6.8/7.8 keitechs) It's perfect for the 6.8 rigged with 8/0 weighted beast hook, the 7.8 + 10/0 weighted beast hook I am sort of hard-lobbing it, but more than enough power to drive the hook home. Both the 7.8 and 8" EZ shin...

Re: Is Daiwa becoming a Tatula???

All the youtube wannabes who post reel reviews and unboxing videos basically stole that format from TT. No one was doing that sort of thing on the internet when Cal and Zander started this forum back in '04. Their pioneering efforts have pretty much given rise to all the other fishing review sites ...

Re: Steez AGS Spinning Rods

Anyway, I'm getting off the topic. I'd be interested to hear what the OP goes with and what they think of it. I pre ordered a steez 76mml and hoping the early June delivery date doesn't get pushed back. I almost went with ml because I'm impatient. I ended up pre-ordering the 76MML as well...a rod I...

It's a power finesse rod...
That's fine, looks cool, but again...where are the 7' - 7'2 ML - M spinners? Which Poison Adrena to throw small swimbaits and wacky rigs? Hopefully they plug that gap seeing as these rods are flying off the shelves (though I bet not the 6'11MH lol)

Re: New Poison Adrena

I got the 72M in, everything I expected. Perfect Duo/MB 110 - 120 rod, and throws a lighter Flash Pointer 95 with aplomb. Will be fishing some 1/4oz heads and finesse swimbaits on it soon...light, crisp, balanced with a Zillion SV TW. As for the spinning models...WTH is Shimano thinking. Where's my ...

Steez AGS Spinning Rods

Anyone have the 7'M? How is the tip action on that rod...will you fish 1/8oz jigheads + swimbaits on it, or too stiff? Ned rigs?

What lb test of teh x8 are you having success with on your bait casting set ups?
Yeah I believe I have 40 or 45 of the x8 Upgrade, works very well on my baitcasters.

The SS112...is it more like the YGK Upgrade, stiffer than J braid x8? I've been eyeing that line for awhile.

YGK x8 Upgrade on Spinning Reels

I'm really liking the YGK Upgrade on my baitcasters, but I prefer a limper, softer braid for my spinners (I'm using J braid x8 currently, it works okay but it holds a lot of water and in wind I'm sure I can do better). I do a lot of slack-line rod tip twitches, small jerkbaits etc where I'm winding ...

Re: Need Help, New Spinning Reel

Either way, just wanted to see what anyone thought, if a Daiwa alternative would work, or the Twin Power is worth the upgrade? If I could find a slightly discounted Twin Power it would make this choice so much easier. If you're looking at Twin Power price range I would get a Certate LT from TTT. Su...

Re: New Poison Adrena

the taper is a true regular but the rod itself is not like a normal crankbait rod. when i say this i mean if you take your normal crankbait rod moderate fast and give the rod a shake you can feel the tip whipping about back and fourth and tell right off hand it has a softer moderate action. The adr...
