Re: St. Croix vs Loomis: stirring the pot
Everyone is going to be different as far as sensitivity goes. At 66 yrs old, I can't "feel" the baits like I did at 30. With that said the most sensitive rod I've ever had was the St Croix Legend Elite, over the two NRX rods I had.

Re: St. Croix Avid X 68MXF vs. 69MLXF
I'm looking at a 68MXF. I plan on using it for jigs up to 1/2 oz, therefore for you I would agree with the above posts and go with the 69MXLF.

Re: Anyone find "The One"?
I've never found the "perfect" spinnerbait rod, and now use the Loomis SBR812C. A friend of mine was looking for a specific rod, never found what he wanted and got into building rods. He now uses St Croix blanks and builds them himself.

Re: Spinning rod conundrum!
How about St Croix Avid, Premier or even the Eyecon? I recently bought an Eyecon for bass fishing even though it is a "walleye" rod. St Croix rep told me it's the same blank as a Premier, just with a full cork handle.

Re: Curado E vs Curado I
It's personal opinion. I like the former brake system on the E as opposed to the new brake system on the I. Sometimes you don't fix what isn't broke.

Re: Looking for a light rod - Suggestions?
I know it list for $295 but the Loomis IMX 802 is a nice rod. I just picked up the 803. you can find them discounted a bit.
Another choice would be a St Croix Avid 69mlxf $200. Med light x fast.

Abu Ike rods, Fenwick Lunkerstick
Was at a local store yesterday that has a decent fishing dept and saw a couple of rods not expensive. First was the Abu Ike baitcasting rod. It was very light and had a nice balance to it. Price was $119. Anyone try these? Secondly was a new Fenwick Lunkerstick spinning rod. It was a medium moderate...

Re: Favorite 3/8 shallow cranking rod?
I'm not a big fan of throwing cranks but I do have them and throw them once in a while. My buddy builds rods with St Croix Avid blanks. I have the 7' MM Avid (medium moderate). It is a fantastic crank bait rod for small - medium cranks. It is also under $200.

I notice that the seat is made with the CI4+ material. Will it hold up?

Re: Choosing a new rod
I do a lot of research before I buy anything but when it comes to rods, I need to have them in my hand. If I buy a rod that I haven't handled, I usually end up selling it and it is a pain to get a tube, shipping and then hoping it makes it in one piece to a new owner. Every rod maker is different. I...

A little smaller sized Tatula would be nice. I hope it is narrower for easier palming.
