Re: Guide choice
5s aren't really considered micro. Personally, I'd go with titanium rings and whatever inserts you prefer. For a BFS rod, I think it's fine to go with a size 5.5 stripper guide (only double foot necessary), and 5s the rest of the way up. Not a fan of recoils myself. Agree. Torzite all day. 6-5-4-4-...

Re: Rods with the 'it' Factor
Point Blanks are astounding. My fav is Point Blank PB703MHXF. Indeed. They definitely have that "it" factor imo. Special feel I haven't experienced with any other blanks. I just picked up an Evergreen Black Raven Extreme. Haven't fished it yet, but I think it's gonna be special. Nice! I r...

Re: What are your favorite blanks for BFS?
I've built couple S781-MHX for UL purposes. It's cheap and quite nice actually. It's "fast" as ul-blank could be. I hate noodle blanks.

Wow, Thanks Cal!
Do you have NFC MB 736-1 X-ray deflection chart? It's most sensitive MH (RDA ~520-540g) blank for jigs what i have ever tested. I like it more than K2 or SCV Croix.

Re: Got my new eternity blanks
I have a ETES610MXF on my bench, not sure what to do with it: I wanted sth a power lighter than the lightest Point Blank (the PB701LXF still comes out as a Medium power according to the TT method). But the ETES610MXF has an even softer backbone than some light powered rods, I expected more like a M...

Re: Spiral Wrap Guide Question
I make it 45-90-135-180 degrees. Usually 1st guide ~50-55cm from level wind. Then approx 30-25-20cm, depending length of blank. Never have been issues of stacking line in other side of the spool.

Re: 20 Metanium YUMEYA shallow spool
A friend who owns it said it definitely helped pushing the lower end of lure weights for distance, but the reel lost it‘s ability to take your thumb off and look the other way. I’ve yet to feel it myself. And I believe he’s using like PE 0.8ish braid, no mono. I‘m awaiting the Rays finesse spool fo...
