Put a bush on a shaft and a bearings and wobble them side to side.

Keept things static more than bushings - that's why I ultimately swap them out.

Face washer in hot water and steam it out (using an iron to keep warm - on the area) as best as you can.

You'll know the difference in size from the line guide shim vs the handle knob shim washer. That corrosion will need a full strip so you can get to the frame. Realistically if you could get it as clean and back to metal as possible then you can prime and encapsulate the MG and try to stop corrosion ...
