I'll look into it. I don't own a Daiwa reel but definitely interested. Thank you.HobeyBaker wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2020 5:36 pm4000 size Daiwa's in the LT sizing is perfect. The larger spool also reduces line twist.

Re: 4000 Spinning Reels for 7'6" L Rods
I used to use Daiwa's size 3000 (54mm diameter spool) on my ML, M, MH Legend Extreme St. Croix rods, because I thought the bigger spool gives me the edge on distance (it always was speculation about it), which I never actually properly tested. Since I replaced those rods to same rods, I had to down...

Re: 4000 Spinning Reels for 7'6" L Rods
I use a 2500 stella on my 901nrx and it balances pretty well, not perfect but pretty good, I also have a certate 3000 on a MB Flyssa and the balance is the same as my NRX combo. I sell a lot of fly rods where I work and none of them are balanced if that helps your decision :big grin: I have a coupl...

Re: 4000 Spinning Reels for 7'6" L Rods
I have a Loomis IMX-PRO 901SJR(7'6" L/F) spinning Rod on the way. I've read and seen on video that some anglers are using 4000 size spinning reels on their 7'6" L/ML spinning rods for hair jigs, Ned's and small swimbaits. Some claim they get more distance with the larger spool and less line twist. ...

Re: 4000 Spinning Reels for 7'6" L Rods
The gain in casting distance aside (probably would only be marginal), I think a heavier reel would help to balance the outfit a bit better esp. one intended for rod tip-up techniques. My thinking on both matters as well. I have a Sustain FB that weighs in at 10.1 oz. that will give me a better idea...

Re: Ned Rod
Just ordered the IMX-Pro 901SJR. Should be a couple of weeks. Thinking of 4000 reel for it. I was using a Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth 7'4" M/F but it was a tad heavy for throwing 1/16oz.

Re: 7'6" Spinning Rods
I have a 901 and two 7'6 MML AGS rods. I agree with Gary that the 901 is a specialized stick and the Steez is more of an all arounder. Here are my thoughts on the two rods: Tip The tip is really light on the 901, but fast and very similar to a 820 DSR GLX that I have. It's whippy, but has a really ...

Re: 7'6" Spinning Rods
I'm with Bronzefly on this one. I would save a little and the get 7'6" AGS. I have several of the Steez AGS rods and the are awesome. I figured it would cost me between $800-900 Cdn. all said and done. The exchange, duty, G.S.T., etc. I have other high end spinning rods that cover the upper lure we...

Thanks. The Flyssa is one of the rods I'm considering. Do you prefer the NRX or the Flyssa?BRONZEBACK32 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2019 7:20 pmLove my NRX 901 but also take a look at the Megabass Flyssa.
