Re: I don't use spinning gear at all. Do you?

Spinning gear is great for open water situations, I use spinning setups for smallmouth often as well as walleye and steelhead. Some 15# braid to 10# flouro with an FG knot makes for a sensitive, easy casting set up and you can still kinda bully big fish. The drag systems are smoother allowing you to...

Re: Frog and Punch rod suggestions

This is what you’re asking for and it comes from the editors of Tackle Tour. Although my personal preference is for a shorter frog rod in the 7’ range, if I wanted a rod to handle both duties this would be my first choice and be damn with the color scheme 😁 http://tackletour.com/reviewdaiwatatulael...

Nice lineup! That IMX Frog rod is fun your gonna love it.
Thanks man. I actually sent the IMX back and bought a 74 xh steez ags, which im real stoked on. The imx tip felt too similar to my faust and didnt balance as well.

Re: Best Rod for Poppers and Prop Baits

Depends on how heavy of popper and prop baits your talking. Most of the stuff i do is half ounce and up so, 14#mono 7MH st.croix LE. If under half ounce you might want a M power rod and lighter line.

Re: Frog and Punch rod suggestions

I have a pair mb fausts. The first one i bought was a frog/punch rod. Liked it so much I bought another used one for frogging one for punching. Real powerful but balance well and feel good in your hand. Now use steez ags 74 for frogging but both fausts get a lot of playing time.

Re: Rods with the 'it' Factor

Megabass 68xti f51/2 diablo evoluzion is so money for 110's, squarebills and weightless plastics. The rod feels weightless because of the balnance and it looks super ba. Nrx 894c. Very sensitive, love the extra leverage I get out of the longer rod and the power/action are perfect for the bottom cont...

Fenwck HMG impressed me for the cost. Heavy though.
I have a Fenwick eagle GT 7M that was 79.00. Great tube and jerkbait rod.

I also bought a Fenwick HMG 7MH spinning rod for my gf. I have a 76MLS for throwing hair jigs and small inline spinners. Fenwick makes some solid "budget" rods IMO.

Re: New Poison Adrena

In regard to the 7'2 H being "mushy" it could be because the rod has no tip. Tested it in the store, I would have thought it was soft if they rated it MH.

Re: NRX 854c or GLX 894c?

I have a NRX 894c and it's pretty great for open water 1/4-1/2oz t-rigs and jigs. I bought a GLX 854 for tight quarters with the same weight range of lures. I thought the 854 NRX would be too light, I feel like I made the right choice.

Re: 2020 Combos

No, flukes and senkos are the lightest stuff I throw and the Diablo or kistler are my choice for that. I have spinnning gear but mostly use for walleye or friends that can't sling a baitcaster.
