Re: New Steez TW ALUMINUM for 2017 !
Aluminum steez, deep spool, mag Z brakes, 90mm handle... I'm digging it. Hopefully comes in a 7:1 or 7:3 ratio rather than/in addition to the faster 7:9-8:1 we've seen lately. Wonder if If it has brass gears? :-k These could replace my chronarch D's for cranking... It is printed on the reel: " G1 d...

Re: 2017 Daiwa TWS X Tough
Air brake is usually coupled with shallow, light spool and such system is named "SV". Magforce Z is more "heavy duty" in other hand. The 2017 steez should have a deeper (100 size maybe) spool to fit thick line such as 3# braided or 16lbs+ mono thus they turn to Magforce Z again.

If not then bench seeds. Bench seeds it all to heck.

Re: Advice needed: Zillion - HLC or not
I bought one in June and sold it after a few tests. I could see no edge in the casting distance as compared with zillion TW 1516(JDM version). I did the with identical line\rod\lure setting. The lure is 21 gram IMA style metal jig. Results: Zillion TW HLC 1514 93.4 meters (no wind); Zillion TW 1516 ...

Re: Preferred reels for distance
I've tried many reels, the overall best so far is the Tatula with dreamfishing TA103 spool. In addition, this combo performs impressively even in casting light lures such as 2.5 gram spoons. Is the dream fishing spool fixed inductor. air brake or magforce z? Air brake, I am not sure if there is any...

Re: Preferred reels for distance
60-70 yards is not an average cast for me. A more realistic average is 35-40 yards. Those 60-70 yard casts were with a 3/4 oz. spinnerbait and a 3/4 oz. spoon. These were made before I got my Primmus, Helios Air, Concept A, Curado 201E7, Lew's Pro Z...........: I measured the cast distance of 1/2 l...

Re: does Antares DC worth the extra dollars?
For those of you that have the new antares DC, do you believe it is worth the extra money over a metanium? I am looking for a new reel and eyeing the antares very hard, especially for the casting distance. I fish from shore a lot and am hoping for any extra distance I can get. I have tried searchin...

Re: Preferred reels for distance
Once you guy put all the technical calculations away and step on a real football field I think some of you will be in for a shock at your best casting distance. 85 or 90 meters, I doubt it. Yes I did the cast test in the real football field, which is measured to be 105 meters long, This is one of t...

Re: Preferred reels for distance
This tests below would be more informative since it is a comparison between several reels: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1wswgFCvno The antares DC 2016 shows no advantages as compared with some other reels. "as least 85 meters" would be too optimistic. When I did cast test in the football field, ...
