Re: Conquest 904 vs. 905
The 904C is way better unless you need a broomstick. 904 is perfect 1/2-3/4 ounce jig rod.

Re: Megabass rods
I have experienced the same results. My partner always called them Megabreaks. I loved the Destroyers but lost all confidence in them. I switched back to Loomis and haven’t had anymore issues. I have added four of the Orochi XX Rods and no trouble with those yet but they don’t get used a whole lot.

Re: thinking of a new bottom contact rod
It will be very hard to beat that Conquest 904. I had the Valdivia. It isn’t nearly the stick the 904 is. The FMJ is the jewel in the Destroyer lineup but it’s not quite enough for the weights you want. I also prefer the 904 to the NRX894.

Re: G Loomis Build Quality
I’ve had a bunch of NRX Rods with no issues. Have all Conquests now and no issues on them either.

Re: Conquest 905C Question
904C is much better for half ounce jigs. 905 way too much for half ounce.jdbassman32 wrote:Do you feel the 904 would be a better option for 3/8 to 1/2 ounce jigs?

Re: Conquest 905C Question
I use my 905 for A-rigs. It’s a stout rod. Might work for big 3/4 ounce and higher jigs. Too much rod for 1/2 ounce jigs. Not a bad punching rod.

I have one and like it. Use it for the same thing on Chickamauga.

Re: daiwa sv103
I have five of them bought from the Tackle Trap. I use them for traps, worms, and jigs. I think they can do it all. By far the best reels I've ever owned. I hope to buy three more soon. I can throw a trap into a stiff wind with no backlash even if the lure helicopters.

Re: Daiwa SV103
I feel like they may hold more line than what is advertised. A 200 yard spool of 16 pound FC sniper did not fully fill up two reels for me.

Re: Daiwa SV103
I'm not sure what kind of bearings it has but I have two SV103's that I fished all weekend with and I love them. They are silky smooth and they cast like a dream - even into the wind. I am in the process of switching from Curado I series reels to these and they seem to be a major improvement. They a...

Re: Daiwa SV103
I got two of these today and they are very nice reels. The backlash control on Daiwa reels is in a league of its own right now.
