Re: Point blank 701MHF

I was speaking with Point Blank on another topic and eventually found myself getting the correct RDA information for this blank. If they haven't already, they will be correcting the published data. Power: 630gr AA: 68˚ Wt: 2.36oz Butt Dia: 14.2mm Tip size: 5.0 12 in. up from butt dia: 14.0mm Balanc...

Re: Point blank 701MHF

Can you please explain what is the RDA weight ? Thanks The weight it takes to bend a horizontally fixed blank down 1/3 of it’s working length, that being the total length minus the handle (why I referred to the different handle lengths). This Rod Deflection Analysis tells you about the power of tha...

Point blank 701MHF

Hi there Can anyone fishing this blank confirm the RDA weight of 525g? I‘ve just measures my rod and ended up with 630g of power. Which... irritates me. I have two other point blank rods 701MLF measured 400g (10 less than advertised, quite accurate) 691MXF measured 440g spot on I know handle length ...

Well, the 9.1's don't seem to have a problem with longevity when maintained correctly.
I wouldn’t expect the pinion to break and not be able to do it’s job anymore - but don‘t you feel the higher the gear ratio the quicker a reel feels geary and develops that buzzing vibration?

Re: Jdm 19 Antares & Metanium DC close in price, which one?

The spool is larger in diameter on the Antares which is made for heavier lures. The smaller diameter of the Metanium will help with lighter lures. Think big tires on a truck vs. stock tires. It's much easier to get the smaller tires rolling from a dead stop. With that being said the line capacity s...

Re: Baitcaster Braid Weight?

I'd say yes. The thinner the line the longer the casts, because of weight and resistance cutting through the air. Also I feel line dig increases with increasing line diameter. I use 10lb braid most of the time and 30lb for pike fishing - even after pulling snags no dig in with the 10lb but some with...

Re: G Loomis Build Quality

All NRX rods I’ve handled so far have the worst epoxy job and cork I’ve ever seen. My 802 (compared to two others ones of my friends which don’t) even has top twist under load. But being in Germany and Shimano just importing one model (804) these days... it’s Stick to the one in your hands or never ...

Re: Tsurinoya Proflex 2 Impression

Which model did you get?

I only use #4 Fuji micro guides on my rods with Braid and very long leaders (3x rod length) and the FG knot makes all the difference in the world to me

Re: Fishing line diameter

Sufix Nanobraid in the rest of the world at .06mm diameter is sold as 3.3kg/7.2lb test. Here in the US, for whatever idiotic reason, the exact same .06mm line is sold as "3lb test". Which having used it I can say it is sure as hell not 3lb test. Meanwhile in Germany... we rather trust the US rating...
