Re: G Loomis Build Quality

All NRX rods I’ve handled so far have the worst epoxy job and cork I’ve ever seen. My 802 (compared to two others ones of my friends which don’t) even has top twist under load. But being in Germany and Shimano just importing one model (804) these days... it’s Stick to the one in your hands or never ...

Re: Tsurinoya Proflex 2 Impression

Which model did you get?

I only use #4 Fuji micro guides on my rods with Braid and very long leaders (3x rod length) and the FG knot makes all the difference in the world to me

Re: Fishing line diameter

Sufix Nanobraid in the rest of the world at .06mm diameter is sold as 3.3kg/7.2lb test. Here in the US, for whatever idiotic reason, the exact same .06mm line is sold as "3lb test". Which having used it I can say it is sure as hell not 3lb test. Meanwhile in Germany... we rather trust the US rating...

Re: Blank comparison

I am eager to hear your reviews. Okay, now I've tested it.. Probably best rod I've ever fished! As sensitive as NFC MB 705 HM, but much more power. That's what I wanted. 8-) Much more sensitive than St. Croix 5C70MF. Haven't landed any fish. Got one nice bite, but missed it. Tested small spinner, 9...

NRX tip twist

Dear TackleTour community, dear anyone who also owns a NRX 802c I bought this stick last black friday and noticed a for my liking rather extreme twist in the tip under load. Never noticed sth like that in any other rod I own (Shimano, MajorCraft, NFC custom builds...) Nor when handling the same stic...

Re: Met MGL

I don't think it has a different spool...

JDM:
12lb / 100m (= 109,361yd)
http://fishing.shimano.co.jp/product/reel/4353

USDM:
12lb / 110 yd
http://fish.shimano.com/content/sac-fis ... m-mgl.html

Shouldn't a 70 size spool have less line capacity?

Re: Putting a "solid tip" on a BFS rod

Sorry it took me so long, I was on a trip. Ok so what you need: Rod/Blank, solid tip, cone shaped dremel tool, sandpaper, sth to trim the solid tip+blank without hurting their fibers (I used a little saw that came with the dremel), epoxy, guide wrap, carbon roving, rod dryer. Step 1. Get your blank....

Re: Putting a "solid tip" on a BFS rod

I recently put a solid tip in a casting rod of mine. But from the front, not from the back. Saw that technique at a rodbuilder here in Germany who specializes in fly rods. It's not a invosible technique, there is extensive guide wrapping but you cant spot the transition when it comes to the curve wh...

Zodias locknut problem

Hi dear TT community! My Name is Dennis I'm 25, from Germany and that's my first post. I've been reading for quite a while silently though. Since a couple of weeks the Zodias rods are finally available in Germany - a great thing as its seems like Shimano Europe is slowly extending the portfolio towa...
