Re: GLX 852

Sorry to hear that man, it's frustrating for sure. It seems like whenever Loomis comes out with a new series lately it takes a little while before they work the kinks out...and the kinks are always simple QC things ](*,) I'll never understand this, but there blanks have spoiled so we're kinda stuck ...

Re: What replaced the Pixy?

I still may get a PX type R just to have one :D But I agree with some of the posters...my Alphas SV casts much further than my Pixy Liberto did, I never had a Pixilla. I'm sure the Alphas Air and T3 air are even better BFS. I see no problem with the Alphas platforma I actually prefer it's size/palmi...

852 nrx, again. same purposes
843 nrx, great all around rod doubles as a great 5/16-3/8 oz jig rod
842 mbr 2016 GLX, best all around finesse/light line rod and a great jerkbait rod
852s nrx best all purpose spinning rod
842 mbr nrx light shakey heads and dropshot casting rod

Re: Light spoon and jig casting - centrifugal or magnetic?

Simple truth it doesn't really matter with a spoon...you could cast it with only use of the main brake. If you're casting into wind a lot and using less aerodynamic lures then Mag breaks are going to be the ticket.

Re: Which Zillion version is truly "Top Dog"?

I will never understand anyone not liking the IP/dream spool. That thing was money in my hands...different strokes for different folks.
If they would have made a Zillion with a lighter spool and R+ tuning, I would have a fleet of them.

Re: SV Spool Paranoia

I've owned several SV reels and never had one stick; I would not worry about it. Oddly enough my two Steez 103's sat for about 8 months this year and most in the garage and both inductors were stuck in the out position...gave them a quick pull and they freed up instantly. I oiled them and never had ...

Re: Curado "i" ... is this the end ?

Hopefully they do a complete redesign, not much of a fan of the current one. Also, lets see if its got plastic wormgear shaft and pawl. Agreed! Loved the E generation of reels; core/alde, scorpion, met, etc... The only knock on any of them was handle backplay, and it never bothered me, this g...

Re: GLX 852

Like I said very favorable. I haven't directly compared them head to head with same line, same lure, same time etc... As a guy who's obsessed with hyper sensitive rods, I can tell you the 842 is exceptionally close to NRX level. As mentioned I've owned other GLX, and a lot of other rods, this is the...

Re: Spy baits who's using them, and what brands?

Caught 4 fish today on a post cold front bluebird day with absolutely zero wind and 45 degree air temps/42 degree water temps. I caught one other fish on a jig. To say I'm impressed would be an understatement! Was using a G-fix 90 on an Alphas SV 10# sniper and a Glx 842. The fish were caught along ...

Still the best spool/reel combo I've used. It can bomb light baits pretty far, yet can still pitch with precision. With a little practice it's such a rewarding reel.

Re: What to expect Daiwa Alphas 105 Finesse Custom

The Tatula HD with absolutely bomb lures, not so good with lighter baits, but 3/8 plus the distance is the same as the Type R, you just don't have as much control for less aerodynamic baits or with wind. The Type R shines with skipping, wind, casting non aerodynamics or anywhere control is needed, ...
