Re: SV103 - How many do you own?
I have 3 of the XSL. Nothing matches them IMO for flipping/pitching - very sturdy and solid feeling. This is coming from a mostly shimano guy. I THINK I have found a right handed 7.9. I was really wanting to try the Chronarch MGL when the labor day sales start, the SV103 is non TW and listed for $2...

Re: Metanium MGL gear upgrade
no it won't work,I actually was thinking if i can find a machine shop that can make these sets in brass. I think machining a set of brass gears as a one off would cost more than a new reel. if it were not to crazy i would get quite a few sets and sell some, but i know that stuff would cost a small ...

Re: SV103 vs. J-Dream
I don't know if they ever could get rid of that reel platform. In fact, bring it back made of Mg, put an SV spool in it, and call it the 20th Anniversary TD-Z SV (since 1998 was the first year of the TD-Z) and bring it back as a limited model at I-Cast under the price of the current Steez SV. Hotca...

Re: SV103 vs. J-Dream
The J-dream is going to cast further and crank smoother. It is one sweet reel for casting crankbaits. The SV 103 is going to be better for pitching and skipping. have to disagree casting difference and smoothness on the retrieve are equal with both. Guess I will have to do a side by side test this ...

Re: Metanium MGL geary feeling?
First post :D I have had two Metaniums...sold them. And now I have two MGLs. One is XG and the other is a regular. Both feel geary if the tension cap is tigthened beyond any side to side wiggle. I think other posters are right about the gear material. I recently bought a Chronarch MGL XG which feel...

Re: Daiwa SV series: please rank!
I think reigion of where someone lives and if they have a boat or not weighs on this. Not saying a Steez is not capable but I sure wouldn't want to throw an A rig, C-rig 3/4oz. + or a DD22 on it all day ! Not to mention a Steez normally doesn't balance well with most rods into the 7'6" + rang...

Re: (Help)Is it possible to install clicking spool tensioner on SV103?
even if this guy would have made them available to buy, i don't think i would want to glue that piece to the frame and i don't see how it would hold with that little surface area.
