Re: Monoblock Appreciation Society.

I brought up the rod in another discussion and this reminded me that I need to finish the 103 spool conversion and BFS this block.

Re: Talk me off the ledge please

There are a ton of these Shimano knock off reels. This one is a Cadence CB8 on Amazon.

Re: Deciding on a bfs moving bait rod (bass), any recommendations?

Hard to say. The rods that do really well with 1/8 oz hardbaits might struggle a bit with 1/4 oz hardbaits. It also depends on the bait. 1/8 oz Tiny Trap casts like a bullet but a 1/8 oz Teeny Pop R casts like a wad of paper. Here are a couple of rods I use for baits that fall within that weight ran...

Re: Talk me off the ledge please

Even if you do upgrade to a higher end rig you can keep the XF50 with a cheap UL rod to use as a Kayak rig or something. That's what I do with my BM3 BFS and Teton 662L. I still have my Haibo Smart 50 that I use with a 5'6" M Cherry Wood that I also use for 1/8 jig heads and small plastics from the ...

That’s the recently updated one but I don’t think we’re supposed to post links to sites that aren’t TT sponsors.

I have the SAS762S.
As long as no one asks for a link then it is fine per the rules from my understanding.

Re: recommend a budget bfs ajing rod

Here's an idea of what the Kuying SuperLite can handle w/o problem. Caught this smallmouth this weekend from a dock on a trout magnet. The bass made multiple runs under the shallow water dock I was standing on and was able to pull him back out, despite being on 4# JDM flouro. https://i.postimg.cc/x...

Re: '19 Steez ct sv tw

I suspect you and hoohoorjoo may palm your reels differently. I use right hand reels and palm with 3 fingers in front of the trigger. I notice a lot of lefty reel users both palm and cast with only 2 fingers in front of the trigger so they don't have to change grip between casting and palming. The r...

Daiwa + Shimano. They play nice together. They even match each other. Same or similar metalic paint on the reel and blank. Same red on the red parts.

Re: Can't remove screws on Bass or Die knobs

Didn't work for me. Drilled the post out from behind. Found out that the screw threads in the post seem tapered on some bass or die handles, My other 2 steez TN's aren't like that. Knobs were easily removed and put on a 90mm zillion handle. You might be able to salvage the old handle if you want to...

Go on YouTube and type in the reel name, look for “The Reel Test” this guy does some of the best reviews on tackle, he’s done a few videos on this reel already
As much as I like Bootytrain his reviews are awful.

Re: recommend a budget bfs ajing rod

Maybe a Majorcraft BFS UL rod? BFS rods are meant for bass fishing and have pretty good backbones. Much more so than a rod intended for trout fishing.

Re: SUL from the Kayak

I like to take my 662L Teton out on the Kayak for when the bass bite is garbage. I can always tie on some fun little bait and go catch some dinks and big gills on a popper or something. It can turn a bad few hours on the water into a fun trip.

It is most likely a JDM reel. Made in Thailand for the Japanese market would be my guess.

Re: Shimano Curado Type J

I looks similar to the Engetsu reels. They have shallow strong (heavy) spools for jigging bays with braid. I have a Scorpion 70 based Engetsu with micro mod gears. It's a neat little reel. It has a clicking drag too. How is it for casting? What kind of baits/weight are you casting with it? What kin...
