I also believe Haibo is behind the Ray's Studo products too.

Re: Now This Stick Is Legit : The Wild Side WSC72H+
I threw a 4 3/4 ounce 8" Pulse Tail Trout on the rod and it handled it fine. It's a 7'2" Hudd stick. What a monster of a little rod.

Re: The Highest Example – The Edge Epitome Rods from Gary Loomis
The carbon grips, lack of winding checks and that epoxy work on the reel seat are vile. Just sell blanks Gary. Step away from the rod blanks and close the mud hole tab.

Re: Daiwa Embraces IoT With New Bluetooth Equipped IM Z LIMITBREAKER Baitcaster
I've always thought the idea of a custom braking profile for a DC reel would be cool. I always envisioned it as a system that generates its own power and to set parameters and braking curves you would connect it to a PC and power the reel via a mini USB. You would run a program to visualize and chan...

Re: The Highest Example – The Edge Epitome Rods from Gary Loomis
I want to know how they made that reel seat. Its definitely a real carbon fiber object made from carbon cloth. Normally we use carbon fiber blended plastics which are pretty heavy and flexible. A cast carbon would be what I would expect but this one looks like carbon cloth built up in layers. In car...

You might be able to heat shrink over the carbon basket weave grips.

Re: Time for Another Build or Two: Point Blank Rods's PB731HXF
I’ve built that exact same blank recently. Mine came in heavier than stated, can’t finde my note of proof but I believe it was 2.5oz. Total rod weight 4.47oz also caused by the reel seat and aluminum locknut trim thing. Balancing torque 0.19 ftlbs at a 10.5 inch handle length (butt to reel seat) an...

Re: Defying the Status Quo : ARK Fishing Creates Their Own Gravity Baitcasters
Pretty sure Haibo makes these. They have the same braking system in one of their reels for a similar price. Also am pretty sure Haibo is the OEM behind the Ray's Studio stuff too which explains the Ray's Long Cast 4 position inductor on these reels. Early DIY spools looked like Haibo Smart 50 spools...

Re: Creature Fever : Big Bite Bait's Hybrid Soft Plastic Craw Tube
Man these take me back to when I was a kid. The mold has been used by so many companies over the years. I think it goes back to when tubed where the new hot bait on a market in the 90s. Cool to see it still in production.

Re: Defying the Status Quo : ARK Fishing Creates Their Own Gravity Baitcasters
These are kind of neat. They use an Shimano like FTB mounted on the palming plate and a 4 position inductor from a Ray's Long Cast spool. Instead of FTB acting on the ID of the spool it works on the OD of the inductor. You also get the ability to adjust the inductor length in addition to the braking...

Re: Now This Stick Is Legit : The Wild Side WSC72H+
I threw a 4 oz Savage Gear 8" paddle tail trout today. I can confirm that it can throw it. I don't care to. It's a lot to be casting on such a short rod and really wears your wrist out. I did have some fun testing out the Lexa's ability to skip. Yes, it can skip a 4 oz paddle tail. I did get on...

Re: Now This Stick Is Legit : The Wild Side WSC72H+
Rod handles 3oz great. 1st outting with the rod and on the 5th cast I got a 6lbr on the floating Savage Gear line through. This is a bait the Hyuga absolutely could not handle. Very happy so far and have some heaver Savage Gear products to try out on the way. It's a very different stick from the Hyu...

Re: The Highest Example – The Edge Epitome Rods from Gary Loomis
Sounds like a no nonsense high performance fishing tool. I like nonsense in my rods so I'll pass but I see the appeal. 🤔 I like a longer rear grip, paint, winding checks, anodized aluminum, inlays, thread work, glitter, stylised text or graphics. You know, uttter nonsense for a fishing tool. I also...
