Re: Anyone use the Bone Combat Beast or Black River rods?

One other you were asking about was the Bone BFS travel rod. I have a Jackson Super Trickster STL 64L which is an awesome little rod, also have that Bone BFS. I love the Jackson but honestly the Bone is more accurate, a tad stiffer and not as parabolic, much more accurate casting plus it breaks down...

Re: Anyone use the Bone Combat Beast or Black River rods?

I have seven of the Bone travel rods and really like them, have used the Combat Beast CBB664RXH on three Amazon trips in the last year and the other six Voyage rods in Brazil December and Colombia in March. I took two of the Voyage casting rods and one spinner to Australia last month, both checked b...

Re: Weight Transfer System Stuck

I've had two Megabass Trick Darters go bad. It's not the balls but the cylindrical weight has come free rendering the lure useless. If I could reposition the weight properly a small hole drilled and some super glue would work.

Re: Tranx 200 punching

There was a teardown and comparison between the two done by a Youtuber recently. While they are very similar the Tranx 200 has some additional salt water provisions. It also has a bushing supported pinion instead of the bearing supported pinion in the K which I find odd as well as larger teeth on t...

Re: Dialing In a Curado DC

Used mine today throwing a 5/8 ounce lure against a 25 knot wind and it was excellent - 40# Maxcuatro on setting 2 with spool tension just barely stopping wobble, zero backlash or even fluff with light thumb on splashdown. My dc is about useless on setting 1 and 3 so I leave it on 2 and very rarely ...

Re: Tranx 200 punching

Just looked at my TranX 200 packed for a Colombia Amazon trip and compared to the Curado K. Identical casing except for the color, didn't do much research on it but figured it must be a bit beefier than the K for ripping big woodchoppers all day. I've used the 400 size with a Hawg handle the last fe...

Re: Reeling Demographics... are you a righty or lefty

I cast right, reel left both baitcasting and spinning. Surfing I'm a lefty (goofy foot, right foot forward), write right handed but throw a ball with my left. Man, I'm all screwed up.

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

After throwing big choppers for hours my best fish of the trip (19 and just under 21) came on a 3" redhead Mirrodine XL, the same lure that got a 15 and a 16 two consecutive casts in Colombia March 2018. A bigger fish did pull the front hook hanger on this lure so I beefed up a few for a March Rio T...

Re: the "if you could only buy one BFS rod"

I have this the F3-67-4x secret shooting, it was a limited online edition. I got one and love it. I can take it anywhere. According to Megabass it was based on Super Eiger. f3_67_4x_secretshooting.jpg That's an awesome score, would grab one if it popped up. Never in a million years would I have tho...

Re: 2 Piece JDM Rods

I am using 4 piece rods without issues. Non have come apart during use and with current rod design there is no flat spots and they fish like a 1 piece, I don't see the need for 1 piece as there is no real advantage to them anymore. the rods I use are Bone rods but Major Craft have plenty of 2 piece...

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

Just got back from six days of fishing Rio Tomo in Colombia, ten day total trip. We lost count of fish 6-12 pounds, my teen count was three 13s, four 14s, one 15, two 16s, a 17 and a 19. So close to that 20... next trip. Here's a16 and the 19.

Re: Ten Dollar Rod Travel Tube

Thanks Guys! In three days it gets the maiden voyage to Colombia, five baitcasting and one spinning rod in flexi sleeves fit comfortably but snug with a wee bit of room for bubblewrap. I think with any tube it all comes down to who does the peeking as they always have the "we checked your stuff" lab...

Re: Megabass Orochi XXX snapped

I'm waiting on a replacement from Japan of a Super Orochi which had the tip snap. The young lady at MB USA was awesome to work with, you shouldn't have a problem. The only bad part was when she told me I could cut the rod once to make it fit a shorter tube. Ouch that hurt, really loved the rod.
