Re: Kistler rod questions.

I am thinking about buying these 2 Kistler rods used in great condition for $70 each. How are these rods compared to Shimano Crucials and what kind of warranty are on these Kistler rods? Lifetime? I think they are made in China. http://www.kistlerrods.com/p/KR/c-/KSS610.html http://www.kistlerrods....

Re: So...definitely a Core over an Mg7?

I hate the "instagage".Had one on a castaic ,,sold it. Iwant the 7:1 for things other than flipping and don't want the instagage in the way.I hate to say it but after 17 years of total shimano, looks like i'll be going all Daiwa..Even if i try one it will be the MG7, i dont like the instagage, the pr...

Re: New products-Part 1

TT review said more features. what i see is higher price ,less ball bearings.wheres the "more features",,o yes,,instagageII,,,had one, don't like it,,,7:1 reels have other uses than flipping,,,and i like the color on the jdm model better, but the Core color would look good on some rods.

Re: Bantam1...CORE question

At this time no brass 6.2:1 gears that will fit to my knowledge (Both the JDM and US versions have Aluminum). The Aluminum gears are plenty strong in this reel. I caught hundreds of bass on straight 65 pound Power Pro with locked drag at El Salto. If that wouldn't break the gears then they should l...

Re: Bantam1...CORE question

Thanks for the info,,,Was't asking if the 7:1 gears would fit in the 6.2:1 frame ,,just wanted to know if there was a brass 6.2:1 gear from another reel that would work,,,i dont want a reel that doesn"t have brass gears.

If you have a good graph you should be able to see it.

Bantam1...CORE question

Is the handle on the Core a shorty like the Metanium mg? Can the Instagage II be removed and replaced with standard thumb bar? Is there a brass gear that will fit in the 6.2:1? Can bearings be installed in handle knobs? Is that black with flake?

Re: LTX II vs. BCR 803

The BCR is by far more sensitive.Fish with one and you will agree i'm sure. Also balance is better. You can even feel a difference setting the hookset.

The BCR893 is a MED HEAVY not a MED,,maybe that is where the confusion comes in.

Re: Extra fast vs. Fast actions

Since I've only experienced this with the Loomis BCR893... The BCR893 GLX definitely does NOT fish like a MH rod. In fact, it behaves very similarly to the BCFR894, a fast action, heavy powered stick. The BCR893 and the BCRF894 are NOT even CLOSE to the same. Maybe someone has their model numbers m...

Re: Extra fast vs. Fast actions

It seems both of you are confusing the taper(fast-extra fast)with the power of the rod.they are totally different things."Rod Taper" is a term used to describe where and how the rod flexes under load, not how powerful it is.
