Re: Smoothest gear grease.
Not to derail the post from greases. I'm not a fan of using acetone personally to clean plastic parts. If my memory serves me right, acetone is alcohol and a chemical added to thin out paints. That same chemical can weaken or gum up plastics. If you can easily buy high proof isopropyl for not a whol...

Re: NRX Guides Pancaking
TiN(nickel titanium) actually has a temper in the metal, which gives it the spring-back capability. If your guides have compacted and sat down on the blank like that, then the metal has almost certainly lost that temper, for whatever reason. Metals are weird once tempered. Any subsequent, repeatedl...

Re: Dobyns Sierra Ultra Finesse Casting Rod
I think it's projected to be released Dec or some time next year. Gary did a live Q&A somewhere recently and may have talked about it then, I haven't given it a listen. They're replacing the dx701c, but they are lighter in power. Supposedly light tips with solid backbone iirc. Not sure if it's a sol...

Re: BFS Spool For Calcutta 50XT
I don't know if there are differences between the regular Calcutta and Conquest for spools, but if they're the same then this one should work.

Re: New Poison Adrena
As for the spinning models...WTH is Shimano thinking. Where's my 7 - 7'2 ML - M?? What's the 6'11MH spinner for? It's a power finesse rod. In short it's what they define as using straight #1-#2PE with most sticking to #1.5PE fishing the small rubber jigs, neko rigs, etc. in heavy cover like overhan...

Re: Short BFS rod
Not much cheaper than the Major Craft Finetail, but a 3'11" rod. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000860391862.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.1000014.24.7e1547a21F3eGr&gps-id=pcDetailBottomMoreOtherSeller&scm=1007.14976.171374.0&scm_id=1007.14976.171374.0&scm-url=1007.14976.171374.0&pvid=50716777-1b53-4d36-a...

Re: Weird incident with reel, but funny.
I'm going to assume the white blocks are the small size, if so, then fishshop.shimano has them for $.99 Part BNT4821.

Re: Z Man Chatterbait Micro trailer?
I've played around with them. My advice is to go thin on the trailer, like a 2.8 Fat swing impact is much too large unless you want to wake it. Probably want to keep the trailer size below a 1/4" thick to keep it thumping at a decent depth. Other than that, they're like a standard chatterbait, so yo...

Re: Tsurinoya Proflex 2 Impression
I have a yamaga blanks blue current 71 and I want to say I've used 10lb sufix 832 to 8lb mono leader, but if not then at least 6lb mono. I don't recall having an issue with the connection knot(FG, blood and alberto). I currently use 4lb power pro as a main and have connected that to 10lb big game an...

Reel Repair Question
I haven't taken apart and cleaned/ fixed reels before. So here's the issue. My spool will spin fast enough to cause a small backlash, with the clutch engaged, if you give it enough resistance i.e. working a jerkbait, walking a spook, even hopping a senko caused it recently. Spin the handle fast and ...

I remember reading Gary saying he doesn't sell enough of the 2 power rods to justify making it in the xtasy line up.BRONZEBACK32 wrote:Why is there no medium casting?
