Re: Daiwa zillion 50th anniversary

I’ve seen closer to 350 or more asked for them in new condition. It all depends on how badly someone ‘needs’ one.

Re: Flip Pitch Punch Reel

 Yeah; I was trying to imagine myself setting the hook and realized that I must not take my hand off the handle sometimes. The soreness in my hand after that last break clued me in. Did not even realize I was doing that at times. Whoa! So how does this happen? Been trying to visualize it...

Re: Flip Pitch Punch Reel

It's been the first longish stretch of cold in FL, so the bite changed on me. It's been a bit sparse for my liking. So, perhaps I was a bit trigger happy this morning :o

Re: Flip Pitch Punch Reel

I realized this morning that I'm not breaking carbon handles while winching the fish in. Rather, the break occurs when I set the hook a certain way (with intention of getting the hook in the roof of mouth). I also realized that aluminum handles are not immune to my folly. I've broken handles only 3-...

Re: Z bone frog rod

I have the 7' HXF Helium3 and while it is a powerful rod, we get some thick weeds here in the summer, and the rod has a little too much flex when you're trying to drag a 3 pounder with 3 pounds of weeds. It could be a little stiffer. So I just bought an Expride 7'3" XH. I considered the 7' MOD Heav...

Re: Daiwa Steez Air 2020

I love BFS fishing and in case of moment of inertia of spool can be reduced, it makes BFS fishing even more enjoyable. If momentum of inertia is small, lighter rod can be used. And casting control is better because smaller amount of magnetic brake is enough to control spool. Small diameter of spool...

Re: Daiwa Steez Air 2020

I have no interest in this reel given the line capacity and that the regular ct goes as low weight wise as I will ever need with good distance. But, regarding looks that seem to be disliked by most, I think it might surprise people in person or with better pictures. I think the all black t-wing and ...

Re: MH JDM Love

=D> I’ll be interested what you think about the oltre—RD comparisons in their respective powers. I have quite a bit of time with the 2 mh’s and like the RD slightly better in that comparison. Much less time with the two H powered rods head to head, but in that case the oltre is the clear winner so f...

Re: Bad to the Bone

I wish kistler would have stayed with those materials/handles on their new zbone blanks. I liked those so much more, but sadly parted ways with my casting ZB. Still have a spinning model and it looks/has held up better than my newer model 76h despite ca. 4 yr use difference.

Re: Suggestions for some new reels

In your situation I would recommend being honest with yourself about what you need/want reels to do for you application wise, how many you actually want to buy quantity wise, and then do as much research as you can on availability of reels online (FB, eBay, message boards, etc) and spend your effor...

Re: Daiwa Project T 2020

I noticed on the new 701m/mh RD it says 'blank touch seat', and on the 7011h it says 'double trigger seat'. Yes; also neither have the “air sensor” written on them like in the photo, but they are essentially the same in appearance. My hustler (mh) looks just like the one in the photo (blank touch) ...
