Re: What do the Japanese covet ?

Berkley powerbait maxscent. All the rage right now. The pro-shops over there advertise when they get new stocks of something hot; kind of like the hook up tackle, etc. do here. It will be like DRT tiny clash one week, obaslive molamola baits the next week, something from Gan craft, and then you’ll s...

Re: "Lew's"

Interesting history lesson; was completely unaware of this connection. You’d think current Lew’s would use it for some benefit in advertising. Luckily no Winn grips on these bad boys :D

Re: Bass Fishing Bycatches

I spent a 3-4 years targeting channel cats. I fish for everything that swims and they’re fun to catch. I’d pre-catch live bait and good sized mud minnows were always the ticket. Super aggressive feeders. I’ll get one all too rarely on a moving bait bass fishing also. Wish I could more regularly targ...

Re: Bass Fishing Bycatches

The bladed jig keeps racking up the bycatches. Now the bowfin became active shallow. One of the bigger males I've hooked into recently. Females are usually pretty beefy, but males I've encountered have usually been smaller. I started experimenting with braided line and bladed jigs despite a buddies ...

Re: New Megabass Destroyers

Have these been posted anywhere yet? Curious of the individual specs for the models that will be released An Instagram post today indicated that the F5-70X and F6-69X will be the models with the carbon grip. I’m really digging the looks of those carbon grips. Is there a full list of models anywhere...

Re: Bass Fishing Bycatches

Oh yeah; it’s a staple now. I did not realize how different it is from the other variations of moving baits I throw. At times, it will ignite bites other baits just won’t. Nice little nuance. And the hookup ratio; my word. Should be banned in tx’s ha ha. I really need to start throwing those this y...

Re: Bass Fishing Bycatches

I catch one or two of these most years around this time; sometimes a treble hook faul catch. But, this year, I've caught an absolute rash of these and they're hitting my baits. Maybe it's because I'm one of the last people on the planet to finally jump on the vibrating jig bandwagon. This year I've ...

Why do these rods seem to be priced significantly better (lower) than seeming competitors in the same class of rod materials?

Re: Evergreen Inspirare GT IGTC 611 XMH " Grand Cobra RS

I have the RS version of the rod. I agree with the person above that it would be very good for your intended purpose. I did not know that a longer 7’ version of this rod was coming in 2020. Coincidentally, my only gripe with this rod would be that I wish it were it little longer. If the action and p...

Re: My 2020 rod/reel arsenal - High end Shimano/Loomis

(10) 2020 Shimano Metanium XG's hmm...too frugal to spring for the Antares AR's.. All joking aside; looks awesome. I’m a variety is spice of life guy so my rod rack is eclectic, but I can see the advantage of being really dialled in using redundant gear, particularly once you find the ones yo...

Re: The Best Swimbait Rod

Stateside, low down customs seem pretty bad arse for the price. Guys that know how to sling a big bait certainly like them. They just had a run of 3 models of the no frills white label and those sold out in a couple three days...west side

Re: St. Croix Legend Xtreme 2020

The very first rod ‘high end’ bass rod I ever bought back in the day when I became able to do so was a St. Croix. Loved that rod. Never had anything but good experience with this rod maker since then. That other recent thread revealed to me at least that St. Croix is definitely not stagnating. I me...
