It’s not out yet. The 2020 172H release is scheduled for the end of April. Kazu can hook you up.

Kazu at JPangler has been great for finding rods like this at a great price/shipping.

Re: Sensitive jig rod

In that price range find a deal on a NRX894, Evergreen Egoist or Gunslinger, or Steez AGS Bottom Contact. Enjoy the search.

Wow, never would have guessed it was so comparable to the CT in size. Thanks for the pics, looks like Shimano has a real star on their hands.

Re: Olympic Vigore

Still seems too good to be true given the cost of components factored in, Ti/TZ are extremely expensive guides plus obviously the nano T1100G blanks. Certainly look legit on paper tho! Be great to see some real world TT feedback come in on these once they’re in more hands. 71H casting and 742 spinni...

Re: Tackle Loss Support Group

I’m giving the highest sympathy points to the guys that actually LOST the gear vs damage. Cosmetic vs unfishable to me is a different level of stomach churn. My best that I can think of off the top of my head was getting a NRX895 fully custom rebuilt by a well known shop, voiding the warranty,...

Re: NRX 916C UBR

Still one of the very best true heavy power rods out there. There really are not many true high end rods in these upper power ratings. I’ve got a custom reel seat and rear handle on mine and it’s been a workhorse for years. I also have the Poison Glorious 76XXH that is very similar and also would hi...

Re: Evergreen Rapid Gunner RSR

Well then you’d be happy with either. Unless you hate micro guides you should lean toward the RSR probably. If you are hard on gear (these guys usually know who they are) then the double footed guides would be more durable and less prone to bending.

Re: Evergreen Rapid Gunner RSR

The HD has double footed guides that are also larger diameter. They intentionally increased the diameters for the HD model. For my applications (mostly heavy cover) and preference it was the right choice for me. i think the larger guides manage slack line better and the semi-micro that Evergreen use...
