Re: Calcutta Conquest SE
Any additional/more recent feedback on this one? I've been a long time Daiwa guy, but have recently become infatuated with this reel. Something about it screams cool and I think it might pair well with my IGTC-69MH Stallion GT I will do a write up on it before long. So far the problem is gone, some...

Re: Stradic FM 2nd Chance
As far as the earlier post, are they saying the higher end Shimano spinners have aluminum gears but they have a special coating? Or do they all interchange because they are the same? The parts are very likely the same. The design for all these reels is the same, using the same A/R clutch and line r...

Re: Stradic FM 2nd Chance
As much as I love Daiwa (been fishing them mainly for the past like 8 years or so) they frequently make some questionable design choices in general. This becomes an off-topic post, because it's about MagForce/Z/SV - in baitcast, Daiwa's casting brake design is so brilliantly simple and effective in...

Re: Stradic FM 2nd Chance
Also if anyone knows, does the Stradic and new Twin Power use the same gears? They do not, nor did anyone really expect them to share gears tbh. Frames too different and the models themselves are in 2 very different price ranges. Twin power is a certate competitor I would think the same, but to me,...

Re: Stradic FM 2nd Chance
1000 size exists in both normal (5.1:1) and HG version (6.0:1), at least here in EU. HG should be 6.0:1 ratio. Thanks! Not sure on the US Tacklewarehouse site, it shows just the "1000" option for selection, but then the details at the bottom call it a 1000HG. Again I am pretty sure only t...

Stradic FM 2nd Chance
I'm thinking of giving the Stradic FM another shot. This time going USDM, for the warranty of needed. Tacklewarehouse has the 1000HG's gear ratio listed as a 5.1, but Shimano USA says it is the 6 ratio. Aside of all that, has anyone had anymore negative or positive experiences with the reel? I'd lov...

Re: Next Generation
My response will be limited to developments in spinning reels. Handle knobs --especially in lower-end spinning reels--often have too much side-to-side movement while the handle is turned, resulting in annoying ticks. Bearing installation seems too expensive a fix for some manufacturers, so it would...

Well I was getting ready to make a short trip this morning, and decided to stay in. The wind is 15mph area and my river is on a fall, so I might hit the afternoon run instead. Got me thinking though, what do we expect next? I was cleaning tackle and organizing a bit, to only catch myself wondering, ...

Re: All new steez sv tw
When I had an issue with a zillion a few years back, Japan lure shop sent me an RMA with paid postage back to Japan. I had a replacement zillion in about 2 weeks. Digi took care of me VERY quickly, so did JLS when they sent me the wrong model Conquest. I choose to fix my Conquest SE problem myself ...

Re: Things You Have NEVER Tried
As far as things I've never used, those mentioned Recoil guides would be on there. I know what they are, but not much about them or if they still have a coating or what...???

Re: All new steez sv tw
One thing I would add for anyone who decides to become an early adopter of a brand new design reel buying directly from japan is to wait for like 2-6 months after its released if possible or if you already bought it periodically check the manufacturers website for any notices regarding it. Biggest ...

I had no idea the new Steez had that new pinion design. Is there still a hole in it or is it solid now?

Re: 19 Antares A weight
Not 100% sure, but I know there are some shared Conquest A parts in there. Most of those parts are heavy, say brass gears, so that fractionally adds some more. I want to say I saw a disassembly of an Antares back when they came out and dude commented on how thick the side plates were or something.
