Re: 2021 Shimano Reels

Speaking on micro modules going bad... everyone got me worried about my Chronarch MGL and I started noticing the "buzz". It does have a sound to it, but honestly it gets the job done fine. I'm not sure about Metanium aluminum micros though, heard mixed reviews concerning them. Do the Bantams hold u...

Re: Need a brass gear set for the Met DC

I think the 2015 Met DC and Curado 200k have interchangeable drive gears, and then you need to use the pinion gear from the Met. Tackle trap has the sets ready to go here: https://tackletrap.com/index.php?main_p ... 98_792_793

Re: 2020 Virtual ICAST and new products

Will the drag star and cast control cap on the Curado 70 MGL be interchangable with the previous Curado 70 or any other reel? I like the idea of an all black reel

Re: Most forgiving baitcaster

Smart choice on the Lews given how tiny some of their reels are. I feel as though just about any reel can become "forgiving" when you put the breaks on enough. It just depends on how far you plan on casting at that point! I've never seen the Lew reels in person. Which ones have the smallest profile...

Re: Any 2020 Shimano reel leaks.....

I use electrical tape to attach a 3/8” galvanized steel pipe cap and then shrink wrap the whole thing. Looks janky but it’s worked extremely well for me

Re: Chronarch MGL Drive Shaft

I take the screw out when cleaning my reels so i can clean just the drive shaft. Be careful though, there’s a spring loaded pin holding the gear in place that can go flying if you take the gear off too hastily. As far as the washers, they should be there. Otherwise your drag will either be 0% or 100...

Re: Shimano Metanium mgl Brass Gears

Have any of you guys noticed the brass gears going rough a while after the swap? I did the swap maybe four months ago and they’ve already gone out Did u replace the pinion gear, too, or re-use the original Metanium pinion? I know from personal experience-you ALWAYS replace gears as a set. I learned...

Balancing a Levante

A few months ago I picked up a Levante Braillist from Tackle Warehouse after sifting through countless reviews. I loved the styling of the rod and the action was just right for throwing texas rigs and mid sized jigs. The only thing I couldn't get past was how tip heavy it felt in my hands. I didn't ...

Re: Reeling Demographics... are you a righty or lefty

I'm a righty casting and lefty spinning. I have a very unique grip on my rod that lets me get away with reeling righty that was developed from my first reel being a bantam mag 1000 with the spool release on the side. I'd have to hold the spool with my left thumb while hitting the free spool with my ...

Re: Righty Spinning AND Lefty Casting?

This sounds like the same switch (but in reverse) that most people make. But it doesn't make nearly as much sense to me since from what i've seen, casting gear is usually marketed towards right hand retrieve and spinning towards left.

Re: Favorite Chatterbait

This thread seems like the best place to ask this question... I am looking for a gold blade with a blue-gil or similar multi-colored colored skirt. Who makes such a bait? Omega makes a chatterbait with those exact components. I’ve switched over to their baits exclusively because they include a ball...
