Re: Too much oil on SVS breaks??
Can only add this from Abu Ambassadeur brake oiling. Apply only a thin film. Like would be applied by oil on a cotton swab. Very light.

Re: T-wing and line holding
Same thing here. I actually hold my rods using the fore-grip. I naturally let the line pass between my fingers. Not a TW friendly fishing technique. Close to modifying my Tatula - which is very tricked out - with a Fuego line guide.

Re: Conquest 200dc
I can provide exact dimensions for the 200 DC.
To start, side plate (left) with cast control measures 2 3/8 inches with a clipper. Overall width, 2 7/16.

Re: 13 fishing concept reels
You'll enjoy this reel. Whenever I cast a "13" my jaw drops. Between my KP and the Concepts on my bass guide's boats, they're always a pleasure. The effortless casting, and well controlled spool brake system is remarkable. Wait until you see the distance you can get; if and when you need it. You'll ...

Re: Pinion Frame Hump
For heck of it compared Daiwa Fuego (non-floating spool) with Daiwa Zillion (floating spool). Only the Zillion has the frame hump to capture the bearing. Fuego basically flat.
I wonder if the Shimano uses a chassis for two different models (with 2 different bearing configurations).

Re: Loud Spool bearings
I'd certainly suggest removing bearing shield from one side to facilitate proper cleaning. A broad based recommendation... Grease in the bearing is a very touchy thing. You mentioned lo vis. That is correct if going this direction. The "danger" is not only limited spool RPM performance, but if the g...

Re: Pinion Frame Hump
That's more of a collar for the spool bearing. You'll likely notice that reels without this collar do not have a bearing under the spool pin on that side.

Re: Reviews out on new 2018 Ryoga?
I'll chime on on Ryoga handle free spin. My 1016H is in solid broken-in condition. Smooth as butter. Free spin? Not it's thing. My Fuego will win this test BIG time. The Ryoga has tight fine gearing. Add grease and the some of these parts speak for themselves. Super retrieve feel, but not a free spi...

Re: New Tatula 150
Correct. If any Tatula feels better w/o spool installed it's just Las Vegas odds. The handle should not be turned w/o the spool. It's critical for the pinion gearing that the spool is in place during any operation. Stop that...

Re: New Tatula 150
Possible to measure spool diameter on the new Tatula 150? Curious to know if it is 34 or 36mm.
Thanks,
Karl

Looks like info on the US 150 is incorrect. Follow through post for correct info.

Re: New Tatula 150
Daiwa calls it out as 16/100 here:
http://www.daiwa.com/us/contents/reels/ ... index.html
But, yes that would make sense to have the new reel, 150 "size", be a bit larger spool.

Re: Alphabrake - New Kind of Braking?
Thank you, Svivlo!
I can see how this is not a classic centrifugal brake. I'm trying to visualize the system. Would it be fair to say the mechanical brake acts a bit like a pendulum?
