Re: More new Tatula models...

Daiwa is such a mess in the baitcasters department. Ever since Shimano released the Bantam, Daiwa cannot compete. And now that Met2020 is a thing, what's the Daiwa's answer to that? Another Tatula, or two, or three. Great😭

Re: Hedgehog vs ZPI

ZPI, KTF, Kosugi Works and Hedgehog are all superior to the Made In China Abec7's from Boca or whatever other overpriced brand that resell Chinese bearings.

Re: New to BFS, Reel that excels at longer casts?

If you want to spend as little as possible, but still get excellent performance, i would suggest a pixy or an alphas 103 frame with a ray's studio bfs spool. Both of these reels can be had under $100. I love my 3 Airy Red's, but he'll be limited with line capacity at the end of a long cast with the...

Re: "older" shimano casting reels

While i prefer the older Daiwa's, i find the newer shimanos to be superior compared to older models. Smoother, lower profile and much better braking system.

Re: Tell me about older Diawa Alphas, TD and other reels

Outside of the Steez TW, i find the tdz/pixy/alphas platform to be better than everything Daiwa has been pumping since the cancerous Tatulas were introduced.

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!

Tried it, it will not work. The rivet that serves as a spacer is smaller than the inner tube of the diawa knob, so when you fit it in without a bearing, the knob rattles.

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!

Daiwa and Shimano posts are the same diameter, but Shimano posts are longer. There are some OEM handles floating around out there that have the same diameter posts, but are even shorter than Daiwa posts. Yea, i am aware. The knob sits too high. Won't work unless you change the post itself. The Daiw...

Worth it for saltwater, but completely pointless for freshwater. In freshwater its just marketing near you "x-ship" etc.

Won't work with Daiwa knobs. Dunno about Shimano, but the knob shaft does look similar to Shimano shafts. Daiwa and Shimano posts are the same diameter, but Shimano posts are longer. Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!

Won't work with Daiwa knobs. Dunno about Shimano, but the knob shaft does look similar to Shimano shafts. You tried to fit Daiwa knobs to the handle and they wouldn't fit? The handle came with the Yumeya style metal knobs and you changed them correct? The knob sits too high, you cannot use it. The ...
