Chronarch / Metanium MGL spool swap?

I just ordered a JDM Metanium MGL, and didn't realize it had less line capacity than a US version. It's like a 70 or 100 size. However, I also have a US version Chronarch MGL 150. Are any of these options possible? 1 - take the spool off the shaft and swap spools only 2 - put the small current JDM M...

Re: Power handles for Shimano low profile?

Not sure how long you're looking for but Shimano's new XG gear ratio reels like the Met MGL/Chronarch MGL come with longer handles. You can order them right from Shimano's site https://fishshop.shimano.com/vip/landing.jsp# Or better yet complete 96mm handles from The Tackle Trap. http://tackletrap....

Re: Power handles for low profiles? Offered on JDM but not US market?

I'm not sure what handles you looked at that cost $90+ from us. the Metanium XG handle sells for $35.82 for example. Most of the low profile reels (excluding Calais) are $45 or less. Most of our handles for the low profile reels are forged aluminum, then machined, then anodize process/polishing, kn...

Re: How to fish a slow sinking Got 'Em Coach bluegill?

Bass Pro sells lead wire: http://www.basspro.com/shop/en/round-lead-wire-spools If you Google lead wire, you'll find other places. For me, suspend dots are too light to achieve a faster sink rate on a large swim bait. I can't put enough on. Can you post a picture of how you use the wire? I'm a comp...

Re: How to fish a slow sinking Got 'Em Coach bluegill?

Article doesn't really answer all my questions though... You can try wrapping some lead wire around the shank of the belly treble to add more weight and increase the rate of fall. I find it's more effective than suspend dots, because you can add more weight. I've also found that having the bait fal...

Re: The hot girl at the end of the bar... Tatsu

I ran 20lb Tatsu on a Chronarch Ci4+ for a while and it's by far the best fluoro I've ever used. I think it has between 15 and 17lb diameter, but it seems smaller. It has a completely different feel to it, and casts better than mono in the same diameter. It's amazing stuff, just wish I could afford ...

Re: Is is possible to re-chrome an Antares? Other options? Paint, buffing, etc?

Get some chrome polish and find out. If that's not good enough most any decent plating shop can strip and chrome for you. But, it would probably be cheaper, certainly much easier, to buy a new cover and be done with it. Already tried chrome polish, and it only made it more shiny. Did nothing for sc...

Re: Best Lipless Crankbait

Booyah is now making chrome and black one knockers and hard knockers. I talked to one of their reps a couple days ago. They just came out and aren't on the site yet, but you can call to order. Check out my thread I started for details. They have been out for a while. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/...

Power handles for low profiles? Offered on JDM but not US market?

I have always wondered why Shimano has like no reasonably priced power handles for low profile reels, and everything that I've seen is like $90 or more. The JDM market offers lots of extended handles, even stock on Shimano reels like the Stile SS 150 PG. Wouldn't it be nice if we could order stuff l...

Power handles for Shimano low profile?

Why are there so few options for extended handles for Shimano? Everything I've seen is stupid expensive.

Is is possible to re-chrome an Antares? Other options? Paint, buffing, etc?

I have an older Antares I am fixing up, and the left side plate is the only one that needs replaced/re-done. Is it possible to re-chrome a reel, or make one chrome in general? If not, are there any SAFE methods that work for buffing out very light scratches from like a chrome Antares? Who is reputab...

How to fish a slow sinking Got 'Em Coach bluegill?

So I am new to swimbaits, but wanna try them for big bass. I bought a BD Shad the other day and it works really good at the speed and depth I want, but I also have a Got 'Em Coach bluegill that's a slow sinking, and I can't fish that thing for the life of me. It will hardly sink at all, and soon as ...

Re: Entry level swimbait rod for around $100?

I third on the Okuma Guide Select. I gave one to my dad and I wanna say it's like 5/8oz to 5oz lure rating, something like that. It's light, sensitive, and definitely worth it.

St Croix make some nice rods too, and you can find good used ones on eBay.

How did you get rid of noise on your depth finder?

I know there are a lot of ways, here's my setup: Lowrance Elite 9Ti bow mounted, wired to positive and negative running from an old 12v plug I removed. Total Scan transducer transom mounted on a step (properly) with wire running along driver side. Motorguide Xi5 24v wired standalone, with power wire...
