Re: Phenix Spreads Their Wings Into the Line Market with Hydra Braid

Good to know that is seems to be a quality line. I'm always wary when a certain type of company (in this case rod builder) magically develops and brings to market a new product. Did they slap together a PE factory, or are they outsourcing and if so where and with whom? Questions I always like to know.

Re: Fenwick is Back! A First Look at the Completely Refreshed Lineup from Eagle to World Class

Maybe there is a good reason, but I don't understand why they don't just sell the JDM models in the US.

Re: A Masterpiece - Shimano's Metanium MGL 150B Baitcaster

According to ReelTest on YT the Antates has the small side ports and the Met doesn'twhich is the reason for the weight difference. The brakes on the Met spool are a rich further away from the edge of the spool also. The Met actually casts slightly better even with the heavier spool. Could just be n...

Re: A Masterpiece - Shimano's Metanium MGL 150B Baitcaster

I think the Anteres spool is nearly identical except it has the additional side porting and different axle dimensions right? Probably not a big difference, but every little bit helps right, at least at the lower end. If you’re comparing the Antares to the JDM Metanium yes they’re almost identical, ...

Re: One for the Enthusiasts: The Shimano Antares A70 Baitcaster with MGIII

Hard to please Danes aside  jkjk I thought this was one of the better TT reviews, possibly because I have been interested in this reel as my 2nd stab at owning a Shimano. It was great to see the internals and what constituted the 220 gram weight in such a small package. For me, I would be looki...

Re: Megabass Valkyrie Rods Take Flight with New Shielz Hybrid Construction

Do you have any insight as to why the rod weights are all over the place? (According to MB website)
7'2 Heavy- 216 Grams
7'1 Heavy- 183 Grams
6'11 MH- 197 Grams
7'1 MH- 174 Grams

I don't get it??

Re: Megabass of America is on Target Once Again : The '17 Destroyer Javelin

Bravo! Bought the Javelin as my first Megabass rod when they were released. Own 7 MB rods now at various price points, the Javelin is still my favorite to fish. Touche' on having to leave this rod at home, so my other rods get a chance at some action. Have a Daiwa Morethan mounted on this steed...th...
