Re: Salt Signs
I picked up some when I was finalizing my Abu 2500. Had to do a couple of bags as they don't sell two of the correct size in a set. Ended up putting one of the leftovers in a Calcutta 50. Haven't seen them available anywhere since I bought mine from HH. I do see what I think are China versions on YJ...

Re: Issei AK Punch
Got a couple of bags in last week and it's about time to give them a try. Put a nail in the sack to make a Punch Shot rig. The balls certainly hang low and they wobble to and fro, but I doubt you could tie them in a knot or a bow. Watched a video and they have a distinct vibration and reverse fall w...

Re: Tuning Isuzu reel
Thanks to all for posting and keep 'em coming please. I received my Isuzu, and it's a beauty. Any idea when the Try-Angle line guides for the 400 size are going to become available again? Was there only one production run in the past or multiple? I DM'd Try-Angle on Insta and they responded that th...

Re: Tuning Isuzu reel
Inaugural post for me - only disappointed that I can't upload my normal avatar, which is the lacquer foil on my Pflueger Golden West (c. 1915 Leonard Fairy Catskill and Rio Chama brown) https://i.imgur.com/FEiob5q.jpg to our OP - ooh, Ooh, OOH - congratulations on scoring BC441SSS. Kudos. Regarding...

Re: Tuning Isuzu reel
Awesome pickup. There are considerable upgrades to the 441 in comparison to the 421, I'm sure you have read about them. I've got the 421 and have upgraded everything except the line guide. They sold out quickly and Try-Angle says they are not sure when they will make more. Best to set an email noti...

Re: Daiwa Steez AGS QC
Good to know. I guess it was the "Assembly in China" that always caught my attention. Ito is a great designer and innovator.

Re: Daiwa Steez AGS QC
Is this actually true? My understanding was that the rods were designed in Japan, and made in China. I might be completly wrong. But, wondering where you got that information?HellaBread wrote: ↑Sun Mar 31, 2024 4:13 amat least megabass finishes the assembly of the rods in japan so there’s tighter qc on that end

Re: Daiwa Steez AGS QC
That is very dissapointing to hear. Interesting to hear if others have had the same QC issues with that lineup. I migrated away from a couple of the JDM brands that do not actually make thier rods in Japan because of the same issue. If your spending that kind of money, buy rods actually made in Japa...

Re: Anyone have any recent experiences with NFC?
Isn’t there some sort of saying about there is always two sides to every story, or something like that? The shut it comment was too strong, everyone can have an opinion, and it wasn't anything personal against anyone. I'm glad that you have had such a good experience with NFC, but, this is not a on...

Re: Anyone have any recent experiences with NFC?
Long story short: I bought their top Black Widow blank for 350USD. With shipping and customs duties the total cost was 530 USD. Ripped off Daiwas for their AGS guides for this project. The blank arrived broken, with cracks in the tip section. They accepted my warranty claim, but I should send back ...

Traded my 50 after 2 weeks of frustration. Never had a problem with any other reel and I have had a lot of different ones.

Re: Light and Long Cranking Setup
Find a Fenwick Techna GP 7'4L or ML. It's a JDM variation from a few years ago. I've got the L and it's perfect for lures up to 10 grams. Excellent build quality and visually appealing despite being made in China. (as most of thier rods are) They were slotted right below the Super Techna at around 6...
