Re: Painting magnesium reel?????

I’ve coated a few Magnesium reels using Cerakote and automotive paint. Cerakote is a ceramic based spray on media available in 100s of colors. Cerakote is applied directly over a degreased/ sandblasted surface and then cured in the oven. Problem with old magnesium reels is that they have pitting un...

Very sweet setups! How is the paint holding up on the tdz? Just picked up an airbrush and hear that magnesium frames can be tough to paint.

Re: Adding tension to Daiwa spool tension knobs?

An o-ring. I had to add one in lieu of the ss sv washer kit when I added a HH tension knob to my SV103. Works like a charm. I work in fluidics and have an endless supply at work. I can send you some if you want to go that route. Thanks for the offer! I have a big kit of o-rings that I bought for wa...

Re: Custom Paints

I use mostly Createx brand paints. I tend to use more from the Wicked and Auto lines. The regular Createx is heavier and has larger pigments. It can be thinned down. Some colors are harder to clean out of the airbrush than others in the regular Createx. I have used other brands including solvent ba...

Re: Custom Paints

Welp, I just picked up an Iwata Eclipse HP BCS, so let the fun begin! \:D/ What paints do you guys like to use? My first project after I get used to it a bit is going to be painting some beat up aluminum framed reels. I also have some sanded down old rat l traps that are ready for some paint. Will m...

Re: Steez 103 R+ spool

I really enjoy hearing about guys who still appreciate and enjoy the venerable TD-Z platform, which will always have a special place in my heart. That original Steez 103 spool, black or red, is fantastic in the TD-Z. This is why so many folks still seek the original Gigas R+ reel, or the spool, or ...

Webp.net-compress-image (2).jpg A couple reels I just finished up recently. The Sv103 and Coastal TWS came out great; lots of goodies and fun modifications packed in those. Just picked up the Zillion SV and threw a few things on it so far and I've got to thank my main man Johnny Skinnz, for sending...

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

Just under 7lbs on a Lucky Craft Bevy shad 2.3 gram crankbait. SS Air on a custom ulm Immortal, spiral-wrapped right with 8# Sufix Nanobraid. The Cabontex did its job. She wore herself out in about 2 minutes. Took a couple pics and back she went. It was a lot of fun! https://i.postimg.cc/MG5yVNMb/I...

Re: Zillion SV and ZPI RC 002

Does it fit in an OG Steez or TDZ? It does fit in an OG steez and you were right about the spool bearing not needing the collar. Sadly, the spool will just not fit in this reel. The spool rotor just sticks out too much/the braking enclosure is too shallow. I even removed some material where the spa...

Did you remove the bearing coupler that the spool bearing sits in on the stock zillion SV spool?
I did not. I forgot all about that. I'll measure the bearing on the spool; it looks like it was changed, doesn't look like a ZPI unless their older bearings look different.

Re: Zillion SV and ZPI RC 002

Does it fit in an OG Steez or TDZ? I left it at work before I hit the gym last night. I'll pick it up today and see. Fit the spool to the palming plate. Does the spool bearing seat into the palming plate? The spool sits in the palming plate seemingly fine. I'm not sure I follow you though, the spoo...

Did you back off the spool tension?
Yeah, I eventually removed the pinion shaft. Still won't work.
