I'm just curious if anyone has changed the spool of the the Exsence 17 DC to a larger capacity spool? I like the matte black compared to the glossier finish of the Exsence 18 dc. I really like the tranx 301. Mostly, because of how easy it is to palm compared to the Lexa. The only thing I did not like was the power handle on the 7:1 gear ratio. I bought a paddle handle on eBay to replace it.

In terms of overall experience I’d suggest going to Hawaii. One of my friends went to University of Hawaii and he seemed to do a lot of fishing. Mostly saltwater. Plus it’s hawaii!
