Re: Smallmouth Trapara and Troutino
I like moderate to a moderate fast action because I am usually swimming a small plastic bait on a lightweight jig head. I also use braid all the time so a fast action rod isn't really necessary. The slower action helps with the initial strike and keeps them from coming unbutton when they jump. Small...

Re: Smallmouth Trapara and Troutino
The Troutino is a solid tip 'area' rod. That was the reason I got that model, something different. Majorcraft describes it as a bottom contact rod for spoons, not sure exactly what that means. I like it though, much faster than the Trapara which is more parabolic. It's rated 1.5 to 3 pounds so I'll ...

Smallmouth Trapara and Troutino
Back on the smallmouth steam again. Water is still around 50 degrees and little high but were able to find some. Fished the Majorcraft Trapara 5'6 ultralight and Majorcraft Troutino 5'10 UL both with Daiwa 1000 Legalis reels spooled with 3lb Fireline. Trapara was fished with Lake Fork Live Baby Shad...

Re: Smallmouth are getting active
Small Creek in Central Ohio. I was using a Lake Fork Live Baby Shad in bull bream on a 1/24 ounce ball head jig. Water temps in the high forties but heading in the right direction.

Smallmouth are getting active
I think spring is finally making an appearance. Best fish from Saturday, caught 20 smallmouth and a couple crappie. Trapara 5'6 UL, Shimano Sahara with 3lb fireline. Lots of fun on that rod.

Majorcraft Trapara, comes in ul, xul and sul in a variety of lengths and won't break the budget. Troutshopjp has them the cheapest I've seen. Fuji guides and reel seat, very nice rod for the money and faster action than the Kuyings. I have one in 5 1/2 feet and love it.

Thanks for posting. I bought the Crostage 642 as a Christmas present for myself. Can't wait until it warms up and I can try it out.

Nothing big but I was happy to get out. Not too many nice days in Ohio this time of year. Got to break in the Autumn Moon and Trapara.

That's a bargain, did you choose the colors or did they send an assortment?
