Re: The most UNDER rated..
I agree on the Kistler H3's, I have 3 of them; 7' ML spinning, 7'3" LMH, 7''11" Heavy, (and a 7'3" MH Zbone to round out my kistlers).
getting ready to build up two NFC X-ray blanks, and hopefully a PB blank after that. Always looking for the next best rod though... .

The most UNDER rated..
The "over" rated thread is interesting to hear. Lets talk about the other side of the spectrum. What rods do you think are under rated/less hyped?

Re: Phenix Rods Hydra 8 Strand Braided Line Green
I use it in 30lb on a few different reels. I have less than a season on it, but so far, no complaints, like said it's seems to be holding it's color well, and so far I like it better than 832.

Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's
How is the paint holding up on the tat type r? Best looking reel in your lineup imho. No better or worse than rest of the Daiwa reels really, few scratches here and there, but no chipping or real "ugly" spots. That particular reel gets some abuse in jon boats frogging quite a bit. It does it's job ...

Re: Blank comparison
Thanks guys! doesn't look like they really have a true Heavy(less that 7'11") in the X-ray line yet, Looking into the MB739(IM) for frog purposes. Just get a Point Blank. Problem solved. I'm eagerly awaiting my X Ray so I can see how it compares to my PBs. PB731MHXF I would assume would best meet m...

Re: Blank comparison
Hey guys, any more feedback on the X-ray Mb736?(I'm thinking the SJ736 will be a bit fast for what I want) I'm interested in it for a 3/4oz jig rod(+ plastic) and horny toads in fairly heavy cover. Ideally I've like to see a 1.25oz-1.5oz high end rating. It'll probably see some hollow-body frog work...

Re: Was the Daiwa CG CC CR 80's a colossal failure to Daiwa?
IMO the market for these reels doesn't exist much in the realm of folks who review and write about them. They are pretty cheap... and readily available at local sporting goods stores around here(and even walmart). Which ironically don't even have Fuego's in stock(a quick search shows Fuego Ct's in t...

Re: Jig Rod Recomendation
I own and regularly fish a Dobyns Dx744, and for 1/2oz jigs, I'd go 745 personally. I tend to fish up to 3/8oz+trailer on my 744. This a preference thing though.

Re: hook set on senko
I usually like to feel the weight of the fish before I set the hook. That's how I fish everything practically. I tend to use larger hooks to help keep them from swallowing it. Sometimes you can tell by the way they hit it whether you can go for a hook set or not, but there's no harm in reeling up s...

Re: Finesse spinning gear set up
I can't comment on that particular BFS setup, but I'll say this, I like having a spinning rod around when the bite's tough (or the fish are small/like small baits) and the wind is blowing. a spinning rod just makes things easy sometimes. I only carry one (7' ML Helium3 with a Daiwa Aegis 2506) A 100...
