Re: Thoughts on high end bfs?

The 2 power NRX+ and Conquest rods are super sensitive and definitely BFS bass capable rods.

The NRX+ 802 and 842 or the CQ 782 and 842 are all listed as medium but they all have a very light tip that will throw about anything you want.

Re: New Steez A II vs High End Shimano’s

I wasn't aware that Shimano had released a new 23 metanium 100.
I had to order one after seeing that it has a one piece frame like the Bantam.

Re: Presentation for big bass actively chasing smaller bass

I don't have an answer for a specific bait but whatever I use I dip the tips in black dye to resemble a bass. It seems to work when a mayfly hatch is going on and larger bass seem to be targeting smaller bass and gills.

Re: What is the all-time best Megabass Top Water Rod?

I haven't fished very much of the Megabass line-up but MY favorite topwater rod is the Otomat. It's one rod that I can fish topwaters all day and my elbow and forearms aren't killing me. It's awesome at that 1/2 oz range. It's also a good jerkbait, small crank, and small swimbait rod too. I like tha...

Re: Stiff/wirey braid for slack line sensitivity

Last year my buddy turned me onto Cortland Silent Flip. It's a 16 carrier braid and super smooth and quiet going through guides. The bad thing is it only comes in two sizes 50 or 65 lb and only 100 yard spools. I have only tried the 50lb. To me, the 50lb feels closer to the 40lb in some other braids...

Scatter Raps?

I was moving stuff around in my garage and found a box with about 20 Scatter Raps. I remember trying them on a weeklong trip that we did great on LC and SK 1.5s but I couldn't get bit on the Scatter Raps for nothing. They were much harder to cast and had to be reeled much slower or they spun out ver...

Re: Whats Your Swimbait Remedy for this

That's a great idea sbd3, don't know why I never thought of that. When I fish swimbaits on jigheads I run a toothpick through the side of the bait at the beginning of the bend of the hook and snip off the ends. It really locks the bait down and makes the baits last a lot longer. Goldrod, I've tried ...

Re: Whats Your Swimbait Remedy for this

Have you tried making the softer baits into line-throughs? That can make most swimbaits last a lot longer and usually increases your hook up ratio too. They work great especially if you are keeping the bait up higher because they're not weedless or wood friendly. One other thing is a lot of good exp...

websites timing out cart

Is there a way to keep websites from timing out and losing the contents of your cart? I spent half the morning shopping and filling a cart and went and took a shower and now everything is gone. I guess I should write things down as I add them or take pics of the cart every now and then. This happens...

Re: Curado 300K Gear Ratio Question

Last Fall I bought a 21 Scorpion MD 300 Monster Drive that is 7.9:1 and 42 inches per turn. That’s a little faster than the Tranx 300 in the 7.6:1 that is 39 inches per turn. I thought that would be way too fast but it allows me to keep the rod steady and do all of the manipulations with the reel in...

Re: Fishing Docks with Hard swim baits

Great Job with the Evoke Zero Goldrod! That color looks killer too. Don't give up on the swimbaits, every bait has its day. That floating 178 can easily be manipulated to float, sink or almost suspend with a little work with lead tape, wire, hook change, etc. That's why I prefer the floating version...

Re: Simm CX jacket and bib

I just ordered a set a few days ago and I hope I like them. A place had them marked down to $239 each so I decided to try them out. I didn't really need them, my old Guidewear is still going strong and I stay dry all day. I haven't found any unbiased reviews on them yet. I did watch a few vids on th...

Good looking bait. Will have to pick some up.

Have you compared it to a MB Big M 7.5 ? That's been my go-to for super deep divers.

I found an oldie but goodie

While looking in the garage I found some old rods that I forgot I had. One of them is an old Falcon Expert 6'9"L that was barely ever fished. I recently picked up a few BFS reels so I think I will give the rod a try on one of them. It's not exactly a BFS rod but I want to see what it can do. I ...
