Re: Steez SV TW or CT version?

I have the A and the SV and like them both. I'm a big guy and have no problem palming either. I went with the SV over the CT because I just don't fish enough finesse techniques that I believe the CT is designed for. Do yourself a favor before you spool it up remove the side plate and spool bearings...

Re: Steez SV TW or CT version?

There are many different ways to flush bearings, I've always just soaked them overnight. I tear my reels down for a clean and lube once a year, some people aren't comfortable taking them apart but it's not that complicated. Check out copycat site on YouTube, he has a complete teardown and lube vide...

Re: Steez SV TW or CT version?

You will need some special pliers or a pin removal tool for the spool bearing, DON'T try it with regular pliers as you will mess up the pin or spool. the side plate one is held in with a retainer that's easy to remove. I soaked mine in acetone for 24 hours then a drop of low viscosity oil. Plenty o...

Re: Steez SV TW or CT version?

Just got my CT today for my super destroyer and I couldn't be happier. It balances well and I love the size for the way I palm a rod/reel Nice dude! I’m sure the CT’s would be great for a majority of the P5’s because of how ridiculously light they are so the balance would be perfect. I ended up ord...

Re: Steez SV TW or CT version?

No clue but both reels felt way over braked out of the box, another member suggested flushing them. They both cast great now. Yes I’ve read most of them do feel that way and how dry the bearings were out of the box. So how do I flush them? Sorry for my ignorance, I’m not the most technical when it ...

Re: Steez SV TW or CT version?

The CT spool is noticeably more narrow than the TW but I switch between both reels and cast the same way so it’s nothing that effects me or changes the way I cast. The clutch seems to sit in the same place when holding one next to the other. So no adjustment needed, got it. Good to know. Appreciate...

Re: Steez SV TW or CT version?

Let me also reiterate; I love the ct, similar to the sentiment of njbasscat. I’m just saying if I had to choose only one of the two for all the techniques you mentioned... Yup, got it! I understand that you meant and assumed the non CT version is more versatile which is better considering I’m not d...

Re: Steez SV TW or CT version?

I have both. The Steez CT SV is my favorite reel of all time. I like it more than my old Pixies and TDZ's. I have stubby fat fingers and it fits my hands perfectly. I love the way they cast and pitch and the clicking drag is cool. I don't throw anything over 1/2 oz with them though. They work great...

The full size Steez SV TW is a bit smaller, lighter and much more streamlined than your Steez 103XS. But they both use 34 mm spools so there's no diff in the line capacity and thumb bar area is about the same size.
Ok perfect, thanks for clarifying.

Appreciate the help.

Re: Steez SV TW or CT version?

Don’t let the backlash thing bother you. I was just trying to provide an illustrative example of how insanely small it is. It’s nearly impossible to backlash this reel. Yes; the steez ct is way smaller than an sv103. I emphasize way. Got it. I understood you were just trying to make your point abou...

Re: Steez SV TW or CT version?

This will likely be an unpopular opinion, but if I were to have just one of the two, for all of the applications you describe, I’d get the full size over the ct. I think they both cast great and the ct does likely have an advantage with the lighter baits. But that advantage was not game changing fo...

Steez SV TW or CT version?

Hey guys, Need some help deciding between the Steez SV TW and the Steez CT SV TW. My options are: 1) to use this reel as a jerkbait reel throwing 110’s and 110 jr’s on a designated jerk bait rod I don’t have yet. Or 2) to use it on my P5 Super Destroyer to pitch jigs and weightless worms in close co...

Re: New Megabass Destroyers

Funny you mention that. I own a Flyssa and mainly use it for Okashira heads and spark shads. It’s incredible. I haven’t used it much for drop shots. It does mention it’s good for deep water drop shot which I never understood why there would be a difference of deep and shallow other than weight. Not...

Re: New Megabass Destroyers

Appreciate the feedback! Do you think the Landsat is worth the price upgrade compared to the addermine? Is the sensitivity a lot more noticeable? Also, the 1/2 power difference, how does that play out for drop shot? Do you like more power when drop shotting? You're welcome - I've been pretty busy l...
