Re: Loomis 904c
873 MBR… I would buy one. I love my 873 CRR. I ended up trading the 904c. For now, I am going to use my Expride B 7’2 as my do it all rod. I bet Loomis would be absolutely shocked how many of us would buy an 873 MBR. I don’t get their resistance to making one. All the Shimano lines have 7, 7-2 or 7...

Re: NRX+ 883c BJR owners, how versatile is this rod?
Thanks for all the tips everyone. Was kinda leaning 903/904 instead of the 883 now but heddonfrog has convinced me against the 904. I've been forcing my 893/894 to work for me for chatterbaits lately over the 842, but they just make you lose fish with the faster tip so the last thing I want to do i...

Re: Loomis 904c
I currently have an Expride 7’2 MH as my “do it all rod”. T-rigs, underspins, scroungers, wobble heads, dark sleepers, spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, etc. I use a NRX+ 873CRR as my jig rod. I am considering getting a NRX+904c to replace this rod. I know it’s not ideal for some of these techniques, but...

Re: NRX+ 883c BJR owners, how versatile is this rod?
I have not fished the 883 but the 843C MBR I have and its one awesome rod. I use to have the NRX in 842C and 843C and if you want to bump up the bait weight run with the 843. I agree with you 100%. The NRX+843 makes an absolutely fantastic bladed jig rod along with so many other techniques. It’s po...

Re: Best Squarebill Rod
I’m like you in that I don’t like the weight and numbness of glass rods. My favorite Square bill rod is the IMX-Pro 841CBR. 3.7ozs, Mod-Fast and it just flat out works. It’s loads extremely well when casting and I get excellent distance with it. While fishing rap, I recently got short lined by this ...

Re: 2021 steez ags rods
Just pulled the trigger on it, seems like too fun of a rod to pass over due to not having the "perfect" balance or whatever...haha Excellent, thank you, let us know what you think about it... Bronzefly great info you went the extra mile with the pictures much appreciated Trevor You're welcome Trevo...

Re: 2021 steez ags rods
Does anyone know the weight of the 6-9m? I’ve searched online everywhere and can’t find it and The Hook Ups listed phone numbers are not going through. I know they were at the classic but were supposed to be open today...idk but I’m not pulling the trigger without that info. Thanks in advance

Re: 21 Levante Jerkbait Special or Orochi Black Elseil
If you're referring to the old Orochi X4 Black Esleil from 10 years ago, the handle length is 10.5 inches (I still have one ;) ). Otherwise the "Elseil" spec is what has more or less evolved into the Jerkbait or OneTen special, so the behavior of the overall rod should be similar. Thanks Cal, I mea...

Re: 21 Levante Jerkbait Special or Orochi Black Elseil
I havent used the JB Special but I have used the X4 Black Elseil, I personally think the handle and the rod are too long for my style but the action of the rod is perfect for jerkbaits. If you find it comfortable you should have no issues. Thank you too. My primary Jerkbait rod is 6-5 which I feel ...

Re: 21 Levante Jerkbait Special or Orochi Black Elseil
Orochi xXx BE2? I have that one and fully intend to buy a Jerkbait Special Lavante as a replacement. The handle is way too long on the BE2 to be a dedicated jerkbait rod but it can certainly pull double duty. The BE2 hande is kinda long. Longer than even my 72M Zodias. I use mine as a lighter power...

Re: What are your 5 picks for reels that changed the market
Zebco 33...I wouldn't be fishing today if I Dad didn't give me one. My favorite 33 story is Canadian lake trout fishing. Uncle has a 40+ on, fish of the trip, reel comes to a grinding halt and fish pulls the hook. Water was so clear I saw the bits of flesh float off as he gave one final head shake....

21 Levante Jerkbait Special or Orochi Black Elseil
Could use some direction here. I have my name on a pre-order Levante Jerkbait special but can also get my hands on a new Orochi Black Elseil. Is the Elseil considered a very good jerkbait rod? Like is the handle short enough to not just effectively work jerks but excel at it? I definitely like the s...

What are your 5 picks for reels that changed the market
First off the Bantam in the photo is the subject that started a conversation about the evolution of baitcasters from a vintage tech point of view. The tech on my BBMVR 2-spd died after a second iteration but lived on in salt water reels. It was an incredible reel for 30yrs of use but it doesn’t qual...

My GLX 783MBR with a Curado 70 (older or MGL) is a match made in heaven. The 70 is more comfortable than a 20 Met, Bantam or Steez A

I agree with this 100%. Was almost going to post a thread “why are my GLX seats more comfortable than my Conquests or is that just me?”
