Re: Swimbait Reel Speed?

I prefer faster ratio and more inches per turn for Glide baits, But It does take a bit of time before you realize your overworking your baits. If you're using Floro/Copoly...You have to consider that the retrieve per turn is less at the start of the cast than it is at the end of the cast. So, your r...

Re: Your Path to the Dark Side ...

My gateway started with baits. I've been modifying and tinkering with baits since I was a kid. I don't really fish to catch fish, I fish to experiment with stuff. Megabass was the first to really spark my interest in JDM design. As the US market became boring and now continues to remain creatively s...

Re: Catfishing

Drop a live Bluegill under a big bobber at Night, You'll be surprised how shallow and aggressive giant cats feed at night. ;) If you don't want to use live bait, hotdog is the deal. The kids do the bluegill bobber thing in one of the tiny golf course lakes by the house. I did it when I was a kid. T...

Re: MLF/BPT opinion

If BPT had a criteria, like all fish have to be 17" or more to weigh for some events, It'd shake things up a bit (depending on what lake of course).

I found it interesting that a lot of former Elites returned back to BASS, A few even being required to ay the 25 Gs per year to break contract...

Re: Any TTers do reel upgrades?

Thank you slazmo, Dalleinf, eklikewhoa,G40,Hobie-Wan Kenobi !!! I will do it myself. I have watched some videos. It doesn't seem that difficult. If I can take apart and put back together Iphones/Samsung phones (teeny parts) then I can do this. So now the ? is which bearings do yall suggest? R Bewar...

Re: Any TTers do reel upgrades?

Been gone from TT for quite some time. Are there any fellow members doing reel upgrades/maintenance? I am looking to upgrade bearings in Daiwa Tatula CT 100H Not sure if I am really desiring to spend the time/energy to do so myself. THX Rand You can do it yourself pretty easily. You can find a bunc...

Re: Opinion: It may not be worth it

When it comes to Enthusiast Tackle, Most people try to rationalize the price of getting into it, rather than the benefit of staying into it. I adopt a "Buy & Try" concept, after a year or 2 of testing it out. I sell it off and buy something new. This makes the jump into buying something new less pun...

Do you guys take rod sleeves and reel covers on your nice combos with you wherever you go?

I am starting to get really sick of carrying them around but I don't want to mess up my nice stuff.
Yes :big grin:

Re: Jackall Riser 007

Maybe this spring I'll play with it more. I guess it is just about having that angle and speed. Not sure if throwing on it on braid matters either but maybe I'll try mono as that should help it float. Its more about getting the speed right. Once you get it fast enough it rises up to the surface the...

Re: Oneten stick jerkbaits

I love my XXX Oneten Stick, I've used it for suspending a 110 in the winter to ripping an X-120 for Smallmouth in the summer. It fishes exceptionally well. I prefer the shorter length for more bait control as well as less reach needed to net fish. It fishes my OSP jerkbaits around cover exceptionall...

Re: What would happen to Megabass without Yuki Ito?

I know Megabass isn’t the “thing” in japan these days. And it’s become more of an American enthusiast brand than a Japanese one. I do not know if it is true or not, but being successful in the US would bring in more money than being successful in Japan, at least the size of the market seems bigger....

Re: What would happen to Megabass without Yuki Ito?

It’s already a fragile company. They are throwing out a lot of baits at this point just to see what sticks. I’ve heard Megabass USA is the only thing keeping Megabass going at the moment. But that might just be a rumor. I know Megabass isn’t the “thing” in japan these days. And it’s become more of ...

Just bought one of the Raid Dodge crawlers. Now I'm looking at the Imakatsu Aventa Crawler and Deps NZ Crawler Jr. This will be my first season trying them, what crawlers have you guys had success with? I won’t say which ones I use. But Your digging in the right sandbox. Keep digging :big grin: I c...
