Re: 1-3g hard baits

I have a question for you guys, anyone change from treble hooks to single hook? What size and where to buy?

Re: Need opinions upgrade daiwa alphas air bearing.

Pretty sure alphas air comes with quality stock bearings, but i've never seen em so i dunno. If its just stock bearings you'd get inside a pixy, etc, then yes, Air BFS are great, especially for the ultra light stuff. Air BFS are metal so they're nowhere near as noisy as the ray studio ones. Alphas ...

Need opinions upgrade daiwa alphas air bearing.

I’m thinking of upgrade stock micro bearing to BFS air bearing, will I see any different in casting? I normally use 1.5gram jig head with 1gram crappie plastic and got about 50’ with no wind. Another question is will hedgehog bfs air bearing make some noise like Ray’s bearing on my Pixy?

Caught my new PB 8.5lbs (previous 7.7lbs) last night with 4” senko on Lite setup.

Re: Help me decide, panfish reel.

At 1/64 oz your really pushing the limits of even the best finesse baitcasting reels. Even if you could get a baitcaster to cast that light your not going to have very much accuracy. There are others that can cast much better than me, but anything under 1/16 oz and I'm going for a ultralight spinni...

Re: Help me decide, panfish reel.

Nice catch What about a KTF in the Aldebaran? Nah too much money, and I already got rid of aldebaran for this alphas air. I think I’m good for now with 3 setups that capable of 1-1.5 grams jig head plus small crappies plastic. I might get aldebaran bfs later on if my wife allow. Ultimately I want t...

Re: Help me decide, panfish reel.

Conquest 50 Got that, it is as good as my aldebaran mg7 with Yumeya spool but not for 1.5gram jig head. 06385104-B70E-4648-9852-4A34F247A2C3.jpeg Anyway today went to test out alphas air and caught about 10-15 small crappies. So far I can say not very impressed, it cast good but not better than my ...

Re: BFS and PowerPro

I just post a question regarding PP#8 and Sufix 832 also #8. The PP#8 equivalents to 1lb mono while #8 Sufix ~ 3lb mono. To me, it seems like PP float and drag more in water, plus the bite I feel not as crisp as Sufix. Any ideas? Now on my Alphas air I went back to 18lb Gliss line (the rest of the s...

I was hope that it work for you man. I have one UL rod with broken top part too. It is Tsurinoya Proflex II, I like the rod but not worth order just for top pieces.

Original power pro vs Sufix 832

I’ve used 8lb Sufix 832 on my ultralite set up for quite sometime caught a bunch of slab 14” and ton of little ones. Lately I try 8lb original PP to gain more distance from smaller diameter. I still can catch some even a big one, I gain a little distance, BUT I don’t feel the bite as I feel with 832...

The Alphas AIR is pretty nice for the money. The ASC is nice too. Both are better than the Ray's DIY spools in my opinion. The Ray's has more line capacity. That and the price are the only pros of it.
I hope you are right since I have alphas air coming my way.

Re: Help me decide, panfish reel.

Surely a new Alphas Air is more than 50 bucks? Don't understand your reasoning. If you've got an Alphas SV with a rays spool, you know what that will do. Alphas Air isn't as much of a finesse reel as the ASC. I got pixy with ray’s spool, and also regular alphas SV. I either buy used Alphas Air from...

Help me decide, panfish reel.

First off, I have been happy with my pixy airy red + ray’s studio spool casting 1-1.5grams jig head with crappies plastic. I also have scorpion 70 + ray’s spool that can get the job done but not as easy to control especially windy days. This make me think of getting new crappies reel with magnetic b...

Re: Any recommendations lures for crappies from bank?

Don't underestimate the ability of large crappie to inhale normal "bass" size baits ... I've caught them on full size Mann's Minus 1 crankbaits and 5" flukes. Their mouths are quite capable of opening very wide and they can be aggressive when the feedbag is on. I've gotten most of my better ones af...
