Daiwa Morethan PE Baitcaster...any other spools that fit?
I have the 14'-16' Morethan PE. Love the thing; great for PE line. But the spool is shallow and doesn't hold enough mono to wing heavier lures a long ways. I believe it has a 34mm spool - anyone know if any other Daiwa spools with more line capacity will work with it?

Re: BFS Travel Rods?
I ended cancelling my preorder for Megabass Triza for now - I ended up not really needing it. Many JDM trout/BFS rods come travel friendly as multipiece or telescopic rods. I enjoy my 3-piece trout rods: Daiwa Wise Stream 6’2” and Valley Hill 3’8”. I also have an ABU KRX salty stage 5-piece BFS tha...

Re: BFS Travel Rods?
Saw someone mention on FB that the Triza UL is in fact truly a slow rod. Glad I cancelled my order.

Re: New Calcutta Conquest coming?
Far from an expert here - but to me the 100,200,300 and 400 all seem pretty similar between US and JDM models now. In Japan they offer the 300 and 400 in a jigging configuration (different handle), and the 100 and 200 in HG. Aside from that the major difference seems to be price. It's still much che...

Re: New Calcutta Conquest coming?
I'm just hoping they expand the conquest dc line. Ide love a 100 sized conquest dc with a 6.8 to 1 gear ratio. Also would love to see a true 50 sized conquest and conquest dc. Just putting that out into the universe hoping it happens They seem to be reserved about where they apply DC. The old Trini...

Re: New Calcutta Conquest coming?
I guess it's not so much what they could do to improve it as it is what they might do just for the sake of a model refresh. Kind of like the 19' Stella SW...not much is different from from 13' and oddly they didn't refresh the 18k and up sizes. Put a clicker on the cast control maybe? Change the cas...

Re: BFS Travel Rods?
Cancelled my Megabass too and ordered the 6'2" WiseStream. The action's description of "slow" worried me for something not intended for drifting for steel head.

Re: New Calcutta Conquest coming?
Like you said - not much you can improve on that reel. But for resale value would rather wait if a slightly updated one is coming soon.
The DC looks amazing but the 4.8 gear ratio is a big time deal breaker (for me at least).

New Calcutta Conquest coming?
I'm thinking about picking up a Calcutta Conquest 200HG. But I notice Digitaka an other don't seem to have it in stock. Given this reel is a '15 - anyone hearing anything about a new Conquest coming? I have an unfortunate track record of buying JDM reels right before a new model comes out...

BFS Travel Rods?
Greetings.
I just pre-ordered the MB TRIZA F0-63XTZ Aello - supposed to be here end June but we'll see. In the meantime I'm thinking that it might actually be on the lighter end of what I'm looking for. What other travel/multi piece BFS do you guys like?

Re: What Knot?
Another vote for the FG. It takes some practice to get it right - but not a lot of practice. It's a pain the the butt to tie on 40lb and below mono/flouro so the albright might be better suited for that. But with heavy braid and heavy leader it has never failed me hauling GT off the reef. For Tuna I...

Re: Ryoga 1016 SV
I didn't know they make a Ryoga in SV. I've salmon fished next to a guy with the Magforce Ryoga and he gets better distance than most (and there are a lot of high end reels in the local salmon casting lineup). But this is with the 7/8oz Mepps Flying C. I own the last gen Morethan SV and it casts eve...

Re: Zen Market?
I've only ordered one rod from them before - a multipiece travel rod. It took a lot longer than I"m used too with the Auction sites - but it did coincide with a holiday in Japan and the thing had to come from Hokkaido to Tokyo. Their processing time took a few days longer than say jauce.com. Not a d...

Re: Travel rod
I have a Megabass Black Elseil II in both spinning and casting. I don't think they make it anymore - the Levante might be the new version. I picked mine up for a little under $200 all in at auction. You really can't tell your using a 4pc rod while fishing them, and for the price they still have a de...
