Re: Looking for a slightly more powerful and versatile rod than the NRX+893c
For what you described the 893 is perfect but if you're wanting something with a little more backbone step up to the 894 or better yet the 904 mbr. Also ditch the leader and go straight fluro.

No, the line type switch on only on the DC reelsgreen weenie wrote: ↑Sun Dec 31, 2023 9:38 pmI have both so maybe I’m
Getting them confused. Don’t the non-dc xgs have the switch on the bottom? The reels are in the boat.

Re: New NRX / GLX
Whether you go GLX or NRX stick with the 852c JWR. Once you go MBR you gain versatility and lose sensitivity. If you have the ability, I would go NRX+ just for the resale value allow even if sensitivity isn't your main concern. But the 852c is a top tier rod of the lineup for a reason... After pick...

Re: GLX?
Can't speak for the GLX but I have a Conquest 782c and its great for jearkbaits up to about 3/8oz. I've tried Megabass 110's on it and a bit too heavy for for it.

So you already have 2 rods that will do what you want a 3rd rod to do.

I have one with a '20 Metanium and the other a Bantam. The Bantam seems to balance it better.

Re: Bantam, 20 Metanium or ? for NRX+ 873
I have 2 873CRR's. Originally had '20 Mets on them and switch them out for Bantams, balances the rod so much better which in turn makes it feel lighter. Mets may cast a little bit further but the trade off is worth it.

Re: 2022 Bantam MGL A
I picked up a JDM XG and also have 5 of the previous models to make a comparison. Besides the hyperdrive it has 6 brake pins instead of 4 like the previous generation and the line guide is moved out a few millimeters. Had both rigged on a pair of GLX 984's with 20# Sniper throwing 3/8 oz. shakyheads...

Re: Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!
Broke a NRX 853c back in early May, was totally my fault. Did the xpeditor back then and finally got a replacement in the mail today, a NRX+ 853. New handle is comfortable, I like the hook keeper down by the butt of the rod and the wrapping is still mediocre. Guess I'll see how it feels next weekend.

Re: What's your favorite NRX and why ?
I have the 852c, 853c, 854c, and 873crr. If I had to pick one it would be the 873 since it can do what the 853 and 854 does and the 852 would be a close second. Soon at the new line comes out I plan on adding a 872s to the mix.
