Minimum parts needed to tune an Abu 1500c to be BFS?
What are the parts I need to change? I was gifted a 1500c among other reels. I want to pair this with my Old18 UL casting rod. I know it's not cheap at all but I dont want to sell this reel so this might be a fun project. I am looking at hedgehog studios for the parts and its dizzying. I am guessing...

Re: Anyone have any experience with the ABU Salty Stage Concept Free?
I have one purchased from a big international vendor with a JP homepage... Was pretty cheap incl. shipping. Yes, it comes with an extra spool. At least when bought in Japan. I think it is a good reel for the price. It looks good on its own but may be difficult to match with a rod (on color). Solid ...

Anyone have any experience with the ABU Salty Stage Concept Free?
Thinking of getting this reel, I need a baitcaster for the bay. Seems pretty decent, and from my understanding it comes with an extra spool. Anyone have any experience with it?

Re: Bought a Millionaire CT SV, what to expect?
Thanks all, very informative responses. No idea what rod to use it, the first one on the list is a Phenix Feather L. Or maybe the BFS version of the Curado or Zodias rod. I am planning on filling it with 6lb flouro or maybe thin PE braid. The 700s spool seems out of stock at digitaka, I'll hold off ...

Bought a Millionaire CT SV, what to expect?
Will be delivered this week. I love round reels, and found this on one of the japanese online stores for a decent price. What to expect with it? Lowest weight lures I can expect to use with it? most of my fishing is in salt water at shore or jettys, for mackerel and such.

Are there any upgrades/changes I can make to a Daiwa Luna 203 to make it close to BFS?
I received a Daiwa Luna 203, but I can't seem to find any BFS spools available for it, or my searching skills are just bad. Any one went down this route? Or even just to make it "almost" BFS. I am planning to use this on light lures in estuarys and salt water.

Did I make the right choice with my reel?
I have been gone from the fishing scene for a while. I always wanted a BFS combo without going too much on the spending, so I got a Major Craft Benkei UL. For the reel, I was bombarded with so many choices I chose the Daiwa Alphas Air TW, waiting for it to arrive from Japan. Then I do more reading (...

Re: Older Shimano Bantam Scorpion 2000, any info?
Would that AR be here? I was hoping the drag washers could be interchangeable. My buddy is going to teach me this weekend on how to do basic maintenance and tear down of reels and we will practice with this. I will take detailed pictures.

Re: Older Shimano Bantam Scorpion 2000, any info?
Here are some pictures of the brake system and the plate opposite to it. Based on what I gathered this might have been made around the year I was born, so now I want to tinker with it more.

Re: Daiwa Fuego Ct or Shimano SLX
Would you care to share what you did with the fuego ct? How do you think it will hold up in Saltwater, with of course the proper maintenance afterwards. It's very exciting to me that something in the $60 range can be tweaked and upgraded. I like doing tweaks.

Daiwa Fuego Ct or Shimano SLX
Daiwa Fuego Ct or Shimano SLX? I need a reel to leave in the car with my travel casting rod. I want to fish the piers and jetty here during my long downtime. Which of the two would be a good choice? I can get either for around $60ish. Lightest lure I will throw is probably 1/4-1/2. I will be pairing...

Re: Older Shimano Bantam Scorpion 2000, any info?
Sorry for the late reply, here are some pictures. It has a weird braking system that just has 2 of those little plastic things for centrifugal.

Re: Older Shimano Bantam Scorpion 2000, any info?
Ah i see. That is good to know. Sadly it just has the regular spool. So the parts for the curado 200b is interchangeable, in terms of upgrades? I want to change the handle for sure. I'll

Older Shimano Bantam Scorpion 2000, any info?
I was given some reels by my co worker who discovered I am into fishing. One of them was this reel, a bantam scorpion 2000. Cant find any info online, pretty sure this is very old. It does look clean and everything is smooth, will give it a try this weekend. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Anyone tried the new shimano nexave?
I was browsing eBay for a cheap-ish reel to use in the surf or piers, and saw this reel. Has anyone used it? The 2500 size seems like a good size for what I need for perch and mackerel.
