Re: Jig/T-rig Rod

I’ve narrowed it down to the H3, perfect pitch, and IMX 853C JWR. I snapped my fury 704cb in half trying to boat flip a 3lber on a 1/2oz chatterbait. Contemplating on doing the upgrade to an extreme 744, but if the sensitivity isn’t in the same ballpark as the other three, I won’t waste my $. I thi...

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?

I can vouch for the Point Blank...I have a custom stick by the same builder that is a tank. Tank? Good? or Bad? This one not translating for me... Durable? Built like a tank? On track? Please expand on description. Forgive me....Mine is actually a flipping stick with spiral Torzite guides and carbo...

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?

Im shocked about the Dobyns rods. I would have given you my Dobyns rod! And the others I have passed up... Nothing quite like full custom on special blanks made by special people- in America or UK, and to some Japan and other... And I can tell you there is really only a handful of them worth anythi...

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?

This should be good! I honestly know it is all opinion based on the end user, but with that said, I think some of the St. Croix rods are overrated. I hate some of the reel seats on the higher end models, and their lower models (Bass X, Mojo, Triumph) feel dead to me.

Re: Any news or excitement about Jackall Poison USDM drop?

I was told by a Jackall rep that there blanks are the same between the expride and Poison. He said the poison had better guides and reel seat. This is while I was looking at a conquest. That said, the poison was the best feeling rod I have ever held. Almost like an extension of you.

I grabbed one from them. 3,000 total being made.

Re: Help me choose a Tatula

I think the SV is a "do-it-all" kind of reel and would good for anything including cranking. I have the Tatula 100 and the lighter balsa wood cranks are easy to throw unless you have any kind of wind whatsoever. The Tatula HD would be a good idea for the deeper cranks, but any of them can handle the...

Re: Anyone fish the TRD Crawz?

I am going to try them with the new bulletz jig head to see if that improves the overall success. I am sure it will pick up once the weather here slows down.

At least they are trying to make them look halfway decent. Anyone that buys one though is in for some big surprises.

Re: New knob styles

I assume you are referring to the new style grips for shimano and daiwa that are subpar.

The RCS knobs are top notch and can be had at a decent price for daiwa reels if you know where to look.

Shimano knobs have always been lacking to me. I prefer the older power grips over the new ones though.

I use a Dobyn's 734c. It really has a good feel for a spinnerbait rod.

Re: Anyone fish the TRD Crawz?

I have bought three packs. Haven't had anywhere near the luck I thought I would though. They look great and have the best action of any finesse type bait I have seen, but it may just be coincidence that the fishing has been slow with them.

Re: Wart style baits

I have both the 6th sense Curve 55 and the Rock Crawler from spro. My opinion is the spro is far superior to the Curve due to the weight transfer in the spro cranks. I get much better distance with similar effort. Both are great, but the castability puts one as a favorite for me.
