Re: Abu Garcia Revo EXD
I just bought one and I’m not impressed. Doesn’t cast any better than my old Quantum Icon. Maybe even worse due to the cheap magnetic brake system they used. Even with the shallow spool and 10lb Invisx you have to turn the brakes up to about 3/4 just to keep it from backlashing. And that affects th...

Re: New vs old greats for cranking.
Get a zillion. There is not much in that price range that can hold a candle to it. I love my tatulas, but call me old fashioned and give me a zillion

I prefer carbon then Winn if I am being honest. I like Cork over EVA. I have them all and can fish them all without really caring, but everyone is different.

Anyone care to try and compare how these will stack up to the conquest?

Re: What rod/reel combo has/will withstand the test of time?
Reel - Zillion platform (TD-Z style). Still using some of mine and they are as good or better than anything coming out now. Rod - hard to say here. Technology has gotten supremely better. I still think SiC guides are as good as they come for the price and value, so there is a component that will sta...

Re: Rods you bought for one technique that you weren't thrilled with initially ...
Honestly, mine would probably be the DX795. It’s big and can rip them out, but I just can’t make myself throw it even when I am pitching or flipping.

Held one again at the classic. This rod just feels all kinds of right.

Re: Jig/T-rig Rod
I’ve narrowed it down to the H3, perfect pitch, and IMX 853C JWR. I snapped my fury 704cb in half trying to boat flip a 3lber on a 1/2oz chatterbait. Contemplating on doing the upgrade to an extreme 744, but if the sensitivity isn’t in the same ballpark as the other three, I won’t waste my $. I thi...

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?
I can vouch for the Point Blank...I have a custom stick by the same builder that is a tank. Tank? Good? or Bad? This one not translating for me... Durable? Built like a tank? On track? Please expand on description. Forgive me....Mine is actually a flipping stick with spiral Torzite guides and carbo...

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?
Im shocked about the Dobyns rods. I would have given you my Dobyns rod! And the others I have passed up... Nothing quite like full custom on special blanks made by special people- in America or UK, and to some Japan and other... And I can tell you there is really only a handful of them worth anythi...

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?
This should be good! I honestly know it is all opinion based on the end user, but with that said, I think some of the St. Croix rods are overrated. I hate some of the reel seats on the higher end models, and their lower models (Bass X, Mojo, Triumph) feel dead to me.

Re: Any news or excitement about Jackall Poison USDM drop?
I was told by a Jackall rep that there blanks are the same between the expride and Poison. He said the poison had better guides and reel seat. This is while I was looking at a conquest. That said, the poison was the best feeling rod I have ever held. Almost like an extension of you.
