Re: Help with my Sol

Alright, I picked up a few new rods and I'm planning on moving some reels around on the old rods. The two rods are a tatula elite TAEL701MMHXB-AGS M-MH X-fast 1/8-1oz 8-20lb line rating, the other is a tatula elite tael691mlrb ML Regular 1/4-5/8oz 8-14lb line rating. The other reel I'm wanting to mo...

Re: TD Fuego Spools

I recently picked up another 100M spool from Adam for a Zillion project. Looks like I'm going to have to try the rotor and spring swap. Where are you guys sourcing the R+ rotor? Does Daiwa USA have them? or can dem good ol boys in Bama find them? Tackle trap had them not to long ago but I didn't bu...

Re: TD Fuego Spools

I was able to get a couple of inductors directly from Daiwa but that was a little while ago. I've heard that their parts supply side of things hasn't been on the ball lately. You might want to call and find out if you can get it. The stock inductor isn't bad by any stretch, it's just that the R+ re...

Re: TD Fuego Spools

Just a note to go with my vote for the 100M. Add an R+ inductor and HLC spring and that'll make it an amazingly versatile spool. Really frees it up without making it unnecessarily wild. Besides the 100m spool being hard to find, is the r+ inductor available from online sources? I was able to get a ...

Re: Pixy vs alphas bfs reel

Chris - I don't think you're going to see a whole lotta difference between the 70 and Air models. Maybe with a total weight of less than 1/8, the Air might get the nod. The SV Light Limited is right in that wheelhouse as well. They will all handle 1/8 plus small plastic on the right rod. Yeah I'm s...

I can throw 2 gram cranks no problem with my SS Air and it has stock spool bearings. Of course, the custom Rainshadow Immmortal rod it is on has a lot to do with that, also.
Well that's definitely the performance I'm looking for.

Re: Pixy vs alphas bfs reel

The Alphas AIR can be had for pretty cheap these days (under 200). I really like the Daiwa AIR reels as well as the new Shimano BFS reels with the FTB (finesse tuned brake). The Ray's spools are nice but, dont have the level of refinement as trye BFS spools. Picking up a true BFS reel leaves the Pi...

Re: Pixy vs alphas bfs reel

There is also a Ray's spool for the Alphas. Honestly I would keep one of the two on the ML and use the new UL rod as an excuse to pick up a new reel. Maybe an ASC, Alphas CT or Alde BFS. Is the air stream custom better than the alphas air? How does the alphas ct compare to those two? The alde bfs i...

Pixy vs alphas bfs reel

I'm attempting to put together a bfs setup. I shouldn't but thought it could be fun. I got a ML finesse setup for lures in the 1/8-3/8 range so this would be for the possibility of throwing slightly lighter with a max of 1/4 oz most likely. For the rod I've got the major craft MS-X MXC-64UL/BF on th...

Is the gigas 105 spool the one from the tdz 105h?
Yes sir. Goldrod bought it from me.

Edit: It has blue brake blocks instead of the reds on the 103.
Awesome, thanks for the info.

Re: TD-Z swept handle and spool options

Hi, I am putting a tatula 90mm swept handle and tatula type r zaion swept drag star on a td-z and was wondering if the tatula handle collar will work or will I not get enough drag star rotation? First time changing from a straight handle to a swept Also I have a 1000sv spool, steez 103 r+ spool, an...

Re: Steez 103 R+ spool

Finally got to try out this spool in my tdz this morning and all I can say is Wow! I've heard how great this spool is and now know first hand. I was slinging a Mann's hardnose shad (close to 3/4oz)on 10lb yozuri hybrid on a medium Ardito rod all morning. I always found myself reaching for a differe...

I fish braid with high drag settings (mostly), so the drag not backing off fully isn't an issue for me personally.
Not an issue for me really and it felt like it backed off most of the way. As much as I'd need anyway.
