Re: Any 2020 Shimano reel leaks.....

Who thinks the casting distance of the 2020 met will be greater than the met MGL? I like the antares but the weight of the reel puts me off.So the met is the only option in my opinion Balancing the rod/reel combo is easy. Buy some black rubber chair leg covers the same size as your rod butt, add en...

Re: Any 2020 Shimano reel leaks.....

Any thoughts on whether I should grab the 2020 Met if I already have 3 Bantams and all of my rods balance better with a heavier reel? The cost of the new Met includes a new rod too that'll balance better... I could save myself a good amount of cash if I pass on the Met (for now)...

Re: New Megabass Destroyers

Maybe I missed it; where did everyone see the info on "The Dark Sleeper" Destroyer? It wasn't in the link of new models. If you look at the linked page there are links to two other plages that cover all the P7 and under models. With the spinning models and casting models, or on a different page? I ...

Re: Kistler 2020 prices up!

They must not be getting the sales they were hoping for. They had $50 off for a while, and now they're doing 35% off if you buy 2 Magnesium, KLX, or Helium. Code is 2RODBONUS. That puts 2 Heliums at $228 each. Not bad if they have the right model for you! If they did 25% off a custom build I'd get a...

Re: St. Croix stagnating?

Well, thanks to the limited casting options and "xtreme" price, I'll be passing on these. I should thank SC for saving me some money! I'll just have to live vicariously through those with deeper pockets.

Re: Expride A vs Orochi XX (2018)

If anyone can compare the 6’6 expride to the 6’5 orochi xxx JDM for jerkbaits I’d love to hear your opinion! Thx I can't compare them, but I did get the 6'6MF Expride from TW last summer and found that the action was a little slower than I wanted. It seemed more like ModFast to me, bending deeper i...

Re: St. Croix stagnating?

I just got an email from SC talking about a new Legend Xtreme, their "most sensitive rod ever engineered". Will be debuted at the Bassmaster Classic in March. Based on the small sample pictures it looks like the handle is still ugly. Would definitely prefer a classy cork handle. We'll see more detai...

Re: G. Loomis rods

These types of build quality issues (that I've read about many times) are basically the only thing keeping me from buying a GLX/NRX. It's a shame considering how expensive they are.

Re: Ned Rod

With the right tackle and wind you can feel with a 1/10th oz head (or lighter) just fine. Get the wind blowing 30+ and most people are totally lost with 1/4+ oz even. It’s all relative to the conditions, depth, and plenty of other variables. Let’s not get carried away, people do throw small ned sty...

Re: Ned Rod

892 glx, but i dont go lower than 3/16 You fishing a jig worm or shaky head, Ned rig doesn't go past 1/8oz. I have some 1/6oz ZMan Finesse TRD Ned heads, so it does go past 1/8oz, but not much further. If you noticed Z-Man calls them a "Shroomz" head, not a Ned head. In-Fisherman had a write up on ...

St. Croix stagnating?

Maybe I'm having a hard time finding anything interesting that St. Croix has done in the last few years, but I feel like they are just resting on their laurels. I haven't seen any real innovation from them. No exciting new super-sensitive blanks or anything. I just got a newsletter from them that sa...
