Re: Drop shot rod recommendation

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone could recommend a jdm trout rod to be used for drop shotting rainbow trout. I fish a few stocked ponds with rainbow trout ranging from 1-7 pounds. I usually use 2lb test flouro and a 3/16 ounce weight. The rod I am using now works ok for drop shotting but is too n...

Ever Been Spooled?

Was wondering how many have been spooled using their ultralight or light action gear? It's almost happened to me, I just needed to walk downstream to continue the battle. From what I've learned, it happens mostly on rivers with strong current or rapids. Some friends have not been so lucky, one had t...

Re: Shipping times nowadays

Anyone still awaiting JDM equipment ordered back in April?

I am still waiting on 2 rods ordered in early April. Last update said the rods were accepted in Tokyo. Thinking these shipments might have been lost or worst?

Re: Trout rod

Take a look at the finesse light action bass spinning rods offered by Majorcraft, Megabass and other JDM rod makers. Yamaga Blanks offers the BlueCurrent Stream-Special 77/TZ NANO which would make a fine rod for large trout in rivers. If you research their specs, you will find the L action bass rods...

Re: Shipping times nowadays

Why would it take Japan EMS 4 months to process approximately 6 weeks of backlog? Something doesn't sound right at all.

Re: Bobber & Jig Tangles

I usually side arm or angle upwards cast with an 8ft rod while wading. I'll let the fly or jig just touch the water and then cast. The jig or fly will follow the bubble, and just before it lands on the water will straighten the rig out by palming the spool. It does take some practice and a longer ro...

Re: Shipping times nowadays

I had a reel ship Saturday via DHL from Digitaka and it arrived Tuesday. However my 2 Megabass rods are still stuck, one shipped April 4th and the other April 14th from Asian Portal.

Re: Finezza Prototype Nuovo S.T. limited

Have you considered one of the Light Game Ajing rods from Olympic Graphite Leader? (Corto Series) I recently purchased the Olympic Corto Nuovo Prototype GNCPS-6102L-HS for casting light jigs using 2-3lb nylon (mono). The rod (6'10") is very light and super super sensitive designed for casting light ...

Re: Cabelas UL?

Not much there way of UL. Maybe a Premier UL by St. Croix?

Cabelas went downhill after Bass Pro Shops bought them imo.

I would use the gift card for a 1000 series Shimano or Daiwa reel.

Re: Budget Ajing Rod under 7 ft (spinning)

I agree with the others, I would research the Crostage or Solpara series of light game rods offered by Major Craft if seeking a low cost Ajing rod: https://www.majorcraft.co.jp/roditem/10032?lang=en https://www.majorcraft.co.jp/roditem/8016?lang=en I own 2 rods by Major Craft (Days and Finetail) and...
