Re: Shimano Excite Top Rods
Shimano excite top is NO solid tip, actually may be said to be the opposite. these excite top has a hardened tip section and a softer blank between mid section and the first 4 guides, and the intention is to make it easier to shake the rod tip with minimal force. I own the Poison Glorious 264SUL+ mo...

Re: 24 Daiwa Airtiy SF Lightest reel From Daiwa ever
Do we really need to go under 5oz? I don't exactly want to use something that feels like a plastic toy, and some weight is needed to balance most rods. think these light reels are designed with super finesse applications in mind. in Japan it is common to use 4lb and under floro line even for bass f...

Re: 24 Daiwa Airtiy SF Lightest reel From Daiwa ever
Does anyone know what the differences are between the SF and the ST SF? Unfortunately all the promo and Japanese tackle show videos are in Japanese and have no subtitles. I mean, why would they bother making just a SF without the ST? Either way I’m going to order the 1000SS STSF for trout. ST uses ...

Re: Evergreen Spider Spin
with the weight of spider spin being 105 gram vs. RC S68MH 84 gram, curious if you feel some noticeable difference between the 2 caused by weight on the water? after playing with a number of higher end gears I have come to conclusion that the weight of a rod doesn't dictate how it fishes, and from w...

Re: Evergreen Spider Spin
Received the new 611MH Spider Spin and it’s gorgeous and perfect finish as expected from EG. Balances best with a reel in the 175+ gram range. For anyone interested in the rod, it’s a bit lighter power than I had originally pictured since it’s marketed as a heavy cover rod (shore and “hanging” both...

Re: Shimano 22 Expride 1610M-S
I could be wrong but I think the lower lure rating on 1610M-S is because it's a solid tip model. and if Expride B 1610M is stiffer/ faster than A, my question is how this 1610M-S is a better jerk bait rod than 1610M B? solid tip is even faster... I don't own this model, I have the spinning model 26...

Re: Evergreen Orion
Old thread - I've acquired the Lightning Strike and the Moongazer. Crazy light sticks with awesome tapers. Anyone else snag any of the other models? How do you like Moongazer for single hook moving baits? like 3/8 to 1/2oz spinner bait, swimming jig and jack hammer? also did you try it for skipping...

Re: Tatula Signature Series
I managed to catch a couple with it this weekend. Good rod for the money. I can see myself picking up another one soon. https://i.postimg.cc/RZx49Cz7/20230317-145352.jpg Nice catch! what's the actual lure weight range within its comfort zone? Spec says it's only up to 5/8oz, even for the H model on...

Re: 2023 Steez “Real Control” Rods
ran down to basement and took a picture, and couldn't figure out how to post a picture here :big grin: ..my PG comes with T1100G badge, no M40X... I'd never noticed a badge on old or new models, so grabbed my new 7'H and older 7'H+, and I'm not seeing a badge....unless you can decipher that gold st...

Re: 2023 Steez “Real Control” Rods
The RC S61L weighs 57 grams. 57! That’s astoundingly light and currently using all of Daiwa’s flagship tech. I appreciate there are PG fans out there, I fish an Ultima 266L-5 that does use *some* undisclosed amount of M40X in the spiral X, but I’m not going to compare apples to oranges with the PG ...
