The tat 80 is pretty loud. Will switching out the bearings help?

Try oiling the spool bearings first. Bantam oil will work. Should quiet it down.

I've felt it on several Magforce Z spools and my '17 Tatula SV, but not on the Zillion 1000 G.

I believe what you’re describing are the brakes/inductor retracting from the side plate. Are you seeing any negative effects? Headed back home from the Classic Expo.
Big shout out to Bronzefly who hooked me up with a Tatula 80. I’ll get the bearings changed out and fish it tomorrow a little bit.
