Re: BFS Telescopic
I have this telescopic rod also. I really like it for 3 reasons: 1. "Guerrilla Fishing" - I have a few places where I fish on golf course ponds and semi private small streams. While not illegal necessarily, I could be asked to leave at any time so being unobtrusive is useful. This rig fits inside a ...

Re: Alternatives to Carl's Drag Grease for BFS?
The only Duethlon drag grease product I could find is called "Duethlon Power Drag Grease" and it is designed to increase "drag force by a factor of 50 ~ 60% extra" direct quote... It says it is a thicker/waxier product to increase drag but keep drag results consistent. If there is another Duethlon p...

Re: Short BFS rod
The Rosewood one I bought (description 2) can easily be shortened from a two handed 59 inches to a one handed rod that is 55 inches. maybe even a little shorter. For my purposes I need to shorten the handle piece to be 26.5 inches so it fits diagonally in my max size 22x14x9 carryon backpack. The ti...

Re: Short BFS rod
I did some research on short BFS/UL/SUL casting rods on AliExpress previously. This is what I found: 1. VTAVTA Fuji-A Guides Ring 1.44M Spinning Ultralight Travel Rod UL/L Power 3 Sections Casting Telescopic Fishing Rod Carbon Fiber 2. Cheap Super Light UL Fishing Rod 1.5m 1.68m 1.8m 0.5-8g Lure Wei...

Re: Alternatives to Carl's Drag Grease for BFS?
apparently Cal's has a light "purple" drag grease. Has anyone tried this for bait finesse? The tan solidifies when cold and is pretty thick and pasty.
Any other specific recommendations for a good lightweight grease for a BFS drag? maybe something NGLI 00 or 0 weight? Is that too light?

Alternatives to Carl's Drag Grease for BFS?
So, I am about to do the drag lapping procedure to smooth out my drag and I have received carbontex replacements from smoothdrag.com. Before doing the lappinga and filling the new disks with grease, I wanted to test the Carl's drag grease to see how it functioned. It seems to be very waxy, which mea...

Re: Daiwa GEKKABIJIN SW LIGHT JIGHEAD
Thanks for this... from the hook eye to furthest reach of hook bend... should be the same no matter what weight as long as the hook size is the same. Width is the outside of hook on both sides of bend. Then wire thickness if you have some digital calipers. I will be able to do this myself at some po...

Re: Daiwa GEKKABIJIN SW LIGHT JIGHEAD
I am still waiting for my test batch of these to arrive, but can someone measure one of the jigheads with the size 8 hook for me? I would like hook total length and width across the point. Also wire thickness if possible.
Thanks!!
Thanks!!

Re: Smallest diameter swivel/quick clip/fastach clip/snap clip
Thanks for that info... I was planning to use 6lb braid and 6lb flouro most of the time. I got a crazy deal on 2lb nanofil and 2lb pline halo so i am going to do a test with that too, but that is probably gonna be too small...... but I got both rolls for less than $10 so it was worth it to kill my c...

Re: Daiwa GEKKABIJIN SW LIGHT JIGHEAD
I ordered some of these, they seem like a great purchase. I am looking forward to trying them out... I am interested in getting some mini texas rig style hooks too that are also sharp like this.. any suggestions? I was planning to rig like in this video.....but with barbed, ultra sharp tips and supe...
