Re: Expride 7'6H vs Megabass Valdivia

I agree i really like the exprides and the new poison adrena line as well have been using them a ton lately. Sadly i have sold my valdivia but thats one rod out of that line up i would love to own again it was very versatile and i really liked the taper on that rod a lot. whichever you choose will ...

Re: Expride 7'6H vs Megabass Valdivia

Hey thanks much for the input. That's very descriptive. I know it's hard to compare sometimes as the price points are almost double in price, you would expect greater from the Valdivia. But your description really has me sold on the MB. Exprides are wonderful rods for the price. I love all of them t...

Expride 7'6H vs Megabass Valdivia

Looking at picking up another rod. Of course I know both these rods are in different price points, but they're specs are similar. While I have experience with both lines of rods and can kind of speculate what I'd be getting, was wondering if anyone had insight or experience with either so I can make...

Re: Dobyns rods 40% off on Sportsmans Outfitters

Gary posted that they were out of long rod tubes which they just received yesterday. Unfortunately for me, I ordered and 807sb so probably why my order has taken awhile. Hoping to receive rod soon and make a few casts before all water ways are closed in California. [-o<

Re: XX EMTF - Gen1 VS Gen2 - Crankbaits

I do not have the Launcher, but do own the EMTF second gen. For the baits you're anticipating to chuck, I'd go EMTF. The Launcher I assume is a considerable bigger bait rod. I have a Fred's Crank Launcher and Dobyn's 805 for larger baits and assume the MB Launcher is intended for that class of baits...

Re: Jerkbait rod

Currently using an Orochi Jerkbait Special. It's been well this past fall, winter, and coming spring. Long enough for casts, nice fast tip, but a nice parabolic bend as well. It doesn't feel sloppy soft. I'm going to try out the Expride 6'10 M as well. Hopefully soon.

Re: Curado K vs Bantam

I have a few of each. For what ever reason, I feel my K's will outcast my Bantums. The advantages of the Bantum, though, are their rigidity, size, and ease to adjust. It doesn't take much fiddling to get the Bantum to cast as needed. The K's can sometimes need slightly a little more messing with (so...

Re: F5-75X7 Extreme Mission

I've thrown all kinds of lures on my EMTF including medium diving cranks, chatterbaits, underspins, and senkos. Surprisingly, it does all those very well. I can launch a River to Sea Tactical crank and that's 3/4oz. It doesn't feel under powered at all doing so. At the same time, I've pitched and ca...

Re: anyone fish a Dobyns 735C??

If the action is anything like the 745, it would be great for that. My 745 has a great strong backbone but a nice tip. I usually throw large 12+ inch worms, jigs, and heavy texas rigs.

Re: Rods you bought for one technique that you weren't thrilled with initially ...

I purchased an Expride 7'2 ML about a year ago. Slapped on an Aldebaran and thought I'd use it for light Keitechs, 3in and below. That was not the case. Rod wouldn't load up enough to cast them. It found it's place throwing ned rigs but ultimately was given away to a family member where it now sits ...
