Re: Zillion sv TW 1000
So i decided to swap the gear set from my zillion into the steez tw and the steez gear set into the zillion. Everything fits and turns smoothly. What exactly were folks saying that is not compatible? Will try both on the water later today, but on the bench, they seem to be fitting perfectly. which ...

Re: z2020 anti reverse problem(??)
What lubricant did you use on the a/r bearing? Only very light oil is recommended. I have found that grease will make it slip or outright fail, especially in cold weather. no grease on the a/r, learned that the hard way some years ago ](*,) Check the inner AR tube and the handle shaft, sometimes pe...

z2020 anti reverse problem(??)
Hi guys, after servicing a friens's z2020 black limited I noticed that, when the drag is fully loosened, the handle has about 5mm of back play, as if the anti reverse does not engage instantly. When the drag is tightened (not necessarly all the way, at a loose fishable setting... don't know if i'm e...

try the deeper one in a steez 100/103 (older platform) if you have one, you'll have trouble setting the hook at those distances

speaking to who tried this reel....do you think it can handle hard hooksets whith 20# fluoro and a flipping stick, or frogging with 50#braid? the aluminum gears scares me a little...

Re: orochi xxx cover hacking
thanks man! I was offered an evergreen heracles ''the heracles'' 69H and I think I'll go with that one... about 100$ more but that should be a really nice rod... if I don't like it, i'll go with the cover hacking

Re: Kistler rods?
Unfortunately this new M Helium is basically the exact same power as my LMH from the butt to the tip. They load nearly identically with a 1/6oz Ned head and a 1/2oz popper. The M is rated for 1/8-1/2oz lures and it seems to load the same as the LMH which is rated for 3/16-7/8oz. I don't think the t...

orochi xxx cover hacking
Hi, i'm looking for a shorter rod for pitching & skipping jigs and t-rigs (1/2 would be the usual weight) in moderate cover from the float tube and i'm considering to buy the jdm orochi xxx cover hacking, the specs are right but i can't find much info on it.... anyone tried that? Any input on the ac...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!
What's the verdict on the AMO ZPI lookalike (34mm)...? Let me know if you have one and which reel you have used it in. Thanks in advance! Works great in older 103 reels. In my LIN10 1016 there is a fitment issue and the spool bearing is too tall so the spool wont seat all the way in. Works great in...

Re: ZPI Spool differences
if I remember correctly the spools with the gold inductor had ceramic ZPI bearings, while the standard silver inductor ones have stainless steel ZPI bearings. the inductor itself should be the same.
can't help you with ported spools/inductors... i'm sure someone can clarify the differences.

Re: Heavy drop/down shot?
depends on the conditions, but I don't usually use much bigger lures. The largest ones are trickworms, 5in senko style baits and i've had good results on a full size zoom lizard With the heavier line, do you also use heavier drop shot weights? yep, I use a lot a 3/8 with havier line oh, and with hea...

Re: Heavy drop/down shot?
I use it and it produces lots of fish in deep grass and wood cover when they want a slower presentation. line size depends on the cover i'm fishing... it can be 12lb braid to 8lb fluoro leader in deep grass where I need a finesse presentation but a t-rigged plastic, 12lb straight fluoro in shallower...

Re: px68 clicking drag
Hello, first post here on TT :big grin: I've recently acquired a Daiwa PX68. I want to add the clicking drag star like the one that the Type-R has, problem is that I live in Europe and getting the pieces from the U.S. is a big hassle. Do you know any other reel that uses those same components so i ...
