Re: Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!
It is interesting to see the NRX haters chiming in on how the new NRX should be built. Can anyone tell me of a $500+ rod that has sold more rods than the NRX? Every component (blank, guides, taper,...) makes it an NRX. I'm not suggesting improvements can't be made, but they need to meet the needs of...

Re: Ark Reinforcer Sensitivity
Fished my 7'1" MH XF in a clearwater rocky reservoir this weekend. Threw a couple of 3/8oz jigs + trailer (easily 0.8oz total weight) and TBH I wasn't impressed with the blank. I could feel every bump into a rock right away, but between rocks, the stick felt dead to me. There's a bunch of pea grave...

Re: NFC SB 683 X-Ray and SJ762 HM.
Thanks for the reply. Mine just came today and my 683 came in at the exact same weight (1.17 oz). The 762 HM is only 1.65 oz, I probably won't build until winter, but I hope to get some measurements on the action, power... before then and I will post.

NFC SB 683 X-Ray and SJ762 HM.
Just wondering if anyone has any experience with these blanks and if yes what are your thoughts/opinions and any thoughts on the best applications for them. I'm especially interested in comments on the SB 683. Thanks in advance.

Re: Favorite Flipping Hook Knot
I guess the best knot for me is the one that doesn't fail. For me that has been the San Diego Jam knot, I've been using it for years and I've never had a failure at the knot.
I do think tying a knot that you know & do well is often more important than the type of knot.

Re: What is your best drop shot lure?
I've had good success with the SK Dream Shot and Half shell as well as the Jackall Cross tail shad, but last fall the plastic that just killed them (primarily walleye & smallmouth) was a Culprit/Zeal 3.5" Straight Worm in Super Ayu. I've had them for a few years never fished them much, but man did t...

Re: No love for the newer Megabass Tomahawks?
I think $400 for a crankbait rod is a tough sell for many people. I have no problem paying this or more for jig, finesse, b/c... rods, but I think there are a lot of really good crankbait/top water rods available for $200-$300. I'm not suggesting it isn't a great rod, I have a Gen 1 XX Launcher and ...

Re: NFC Xray $85 with free shipping!
I recently purchased some blanks during this sale. There are a couple that I bought on a whim and I was wondering if anyone had any input on them. One is a SB 683 X-Ray and the other is a SJ762 HM. I'm waiting for the blanks so I haven't had a chance to get a feel for them. I have a 5 other X-Ray bl...

Re: Zillion1000 has buried the whole Shimano lineup.
I've got one but don't have enough hours on it to declare it the supreme ruler in its class. It certainly is smooth and casts great. I have 2 more coming soon. I'm basically replacing a few of my SV103's. If your a Daiwa person, it's a welcome addition to their lineup. If your a Shimano person, it ...

Re: Zillion1000 has buried the whole Shimano lineup.
Like many new Shimano and Daiwa reels my guess is that the Daiwa fans will call it the "greatest ever" and the Shimano guys will say meh.

Re: 7'6" Spinning Rods
I just bought a NFC SJ762 HM blank, but I probably won't get to it until the fall. I love my NRX 872s and I thought this blank would make a great 7'6" spinning rod. Like many others I've been moving to more 7'3"+ rods.

Re: What's your favorite NRX and why ?
Favorite Casting the 893c, I love throwing unweighted senkos and this is the best rod I've fished to date for that technique. It is also an amazing light/med jig rod. Favorite spinning is the 872s. When fishing big clear waters this thing will launch light jigs and the extra length helps avoid hang-...
